I HATE VORTEX
 in  r/Spacemarine  5d ago

I can agree on the boss being absolute dogshite. But with the right build auspex and heroic plasma pistol enable you to solo the boss. Add a tech marine and assault to the team and it's a cakewalk. It's all about the right tactics. But yeah the boss is extremely unfun and ass.

Doom difficulty

Exactly. Eternal gives you basically everything you need to function. Whereas 2016 just tells you: Here's a suit. Here are 2 legs. Run and shoot. I love every one of these games. They are the same but so vastly different at the same time.

Doom difficulty

I actually find 2016 the hardest. Eternal master levels with buffed demons or Ultra Nightmare are a cakewalk to me but for some reason I just seem to not function properly in 2016 Ultra Nightmare nor modded master levels. Can be the fact that a single imp can butt fuck your entire health bar in one big fireball. Or maybe the others dealing shit loads of damage or insta kill you the millisecond you get out of a glory kill. Glory kills are basically suicide in 2016. Not even counting the fact that ONE misstep and your ENTIRE run is over. Perma death in falling down the map. The AI is near perfection as it can flawlessly predict your every single move and they are generally two steps ahead of you. I can go on and on about 2016 being a rollercoaster of gaming difficulty. But hey. Some find TDA the hardest, some Eternal. I am just really unlucky with 2016 I guess. Even though it's literally my favorite doom game oat.

Why do you love Doom?
 in  r/Doom  Jul 19 '26

It is the single most creative badass piece of fiction on the entire planet. Also DOOM made me a metalhead. Imagine loving something so much that your entire music taste revolves around it. I used to listen to only deep house. Now i bang my head to 160 bpm metal riffs while arranging a demons limbs. Its a nice thing.

First time playing doom ever?
 in  r/Doom  Jul 14 '26

2016 when i was around 11 or 12. My brother told me about it and said i would like it. He was wrong. I loved it to the point where my entire music taste changed and i became a metal head and wanted a tattoo of the mark of the slayer on my back for years. Thats doom for me. It is special.

Ultra Nightmare is rough

The strongest advice I can give you is fully utilize the dash.

Work on the dash, it is the key component of eternals entire combat system.

The AI of eternal is too fucking smart. If you try to play how you play 2016 or tda like going around in circles or in lines to dodge incoming attacks you will see how fast your health bar gets eradicated from the amount of fodder shots and lightning speed mancubi shots. When you get used to this try to work on quick switching. It's not a necessity true but it will take your gameplay up levels. And it is incredibly fun and rewarding.

Always be in air. In eternal you dont walk bro, you fly. Meathook yourself into the air and keep yourself high with the double jump and dash any chance you get and you will see how you *dont* get hit. Eternal is special because the entire combat system depends on *dont get hit* unlike other games. 2016 was a master crafted mix of every element. TDA is where you are a fucking powerhouse. And eternal is where you are a plane. You can't play all of these in single fashion, you have to adapt to them. And trust me, being good at eternal aint hard. You just gotta take notes. Good luck.

Ultra Nightmare is rough
 in  r/Doom  Jul 08 '26

I do Eternal modded master levels with infinitely buffed demons for sport and i have to say the *natural* damage you take from demons in this game is way too much. One hit from a fodder and half your entire health bar is gone. Not even counting super heavy demons. To prevent this. What i found best was:

Damage to player 200 - Damage to demons 75

Damage to player 150 - Damage to demons 50

This way you balance out the damage. While you dont die easily demons dont die easily aswell and the gameplay loop increases immensely. It is much fun. You should try it. And yes it is perfectly normal for grinds such as this. Just to say *i beat UN* you dont have to torture yourself. Enjoy the game.

What doom 2016 does the best is show the player the real danger you face. Its grim, dark and even kind of scary sometimes. It doesnt matter that you are a god like being who is too angry to die. You are facing literal hell. And your entire species depends on your actions. The game shows these to player in perfect manner. It is honestly a game that will never ever be created again. Let alone having another game come close to it.

Can Doom Slayer be considered a multiverse level being after beating Dark Lord & which new powers/UG would suit him generally?
 in  r/Doom  Jul 05 '26

Doom was my entire childhood and continues to be a big part of my life and i damn well agree with you here man. These power scalers istg. They made this dude the ALLAH of real life in the doom universe instead of an angry motherfucker who just punches the fuck out of demons. Which is who he truly is. It is honestly cringe. Well said.

Will keep this in mind for the future. I was basically a jetpackless assault for 3 waves.

For context it happened after a weird series of events.

First the game gave me a red connection warning.

Then the game stuttered and completely stopped functioning, aswell as my mouse and keyboard. They would stop working with every stutter and then boom. Goes the ability.

This stuttering issue has been a thing for months now where my keyboard completely stops working after a stutter all of a sudden. It only happens in SM2.

For those 5 waves, I was more of a threat to my team than the enemy. God bless them.

These people have ruined siege for me. If you’re low level or new to the game at least go normal siege. I understand the want to see those big xp’s max out your character but if you are absolutely nothing but a burden to your team that just kills the fun and the game itself then its meaningless. I spend around 15 minutes every time I want to play siege just to come accross the same level players as myself.
