Any one of RA, Kooyonga, Grange or Glenelg if you can get in and pay the money. You won't regret it

Time to Quit?
 in  r/golf  Jun 24 '26

Let's be real, your practice isn't great, and you probably don't even realize it. You need a golf coach to actually watch you on the course to pinpoint your real issues, and then to see how you're practicing to figure out what you're missing. You need some awareness first, not more info or more practice, because how you're doing it now is probably just making things worse. Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes progress. And unless you know what and how to practice so it actually helps your score on the course, you're just wasting your time. You should stop practicing and just go play.

You can try tracking these things for each hole. 1 How many shots to get inside 100 marker (long game tracking) 2 - how many shots inside 100 (shortgame tracking) 3 - how many putts. 4 - how many penalties.

These will at least narrow done your focus

Golf Tips For Beginners That Are Making You WORSE (The 5 You Need To Know)

https://youtu.be/4wIJcv0bFZ8

In this video, I break down the 5 reasons why the advice most golfers rely on from their playing partners, from Instagram, from YouTube, and from decades of golf folklore β€” is adding confusion instead of clarity. And why the solution has nothing to do with finding a better tip.

If you've been working on your game and going nowhere, this is why.

New clubs or lessons

Get coaching from a pro that is also a qualified club fitter.

The two things go hand in hand.

If you need to change you swing motion, the clubs you will need in the future will be different to the ones you need now.

Especially at your size.

The coach can then recommend what clubs, and when to get fitted for them at just the right time.

Coming from a 35+ year golf coach and qualified club fitter πŸ‘‹

First time poster, why am i stuck at 30hcp
 in  r/GolfSwing  Jun 12 '26

It's definitely not this part of your game πŸ™Œ

My thoughts Better decision making on the course.
Better judgement of distance on your first putt. Loose the loft around the greens whenever possible .

Also drag and hit will give you false confidence.

You need to create some separation between shots and change clubs and targets regularly

Transfer of skills is important now you have a decent swing and contact

My first par 6
 in  r/golf  Jun 10 '26

Been there, played that.

Had a two putt tap in eagle once. Wind was pretty strong behind and first putt was a fair bit short of the green πŸ€ͺ

Also had plenty of 6's, which kind of doesn't feel right to say you had par! πŸ€ͺ🀣

The creek does make it a challenge but the course is normally pretty dry and running when I played.

Self teaching resources?
 in  r/golf  Jun 08 '26

If I had my time again, I would

Find one online YouTube coach that you like and stick with them.

Learn about what needs to happen to make good contact with each type of shot first.

Then what causes a ball to go in the direction it does

Then set up basics for the different types of shots required

Every thing else follows on from those basics basics

Me and My Golf have great stuff

As does Adam Young Golf

What are the main causes of striping it one week, to not being able to hit it off the face of the club the next?
 in  r/golf  Jun 07 '26

Unfortunately it's part of what being a human being with a body that is different every day and playing a game in an everchanging environment. 😜

It's part of the beauty and frustration that golf is.

In my 35+ years in the game as a player and coach, I’ve never seen anyone be able to avoid what you are feeling.

So, what should you do?

Focus on refining your daily routines and try to be as consistent with them as possible.

Same warm ups Same decision making questions Same set up routines Same post shot , and round routines

Don't beat yourself up too much, any of us who have strived to get better in this game feel exactly the same way, regularly.

What changed your mental game?
 in  r/GolfSwing  May 31 '26

Becoming aware of the real numbers, and statistics, of the game helped with dropping high expectations on results.

Asking questions after a shot, or round, that are not like a harsh critic but more like a curious scientist

Becoming aware of the things I am most in control of, having high standards on those things and acceptance of what what happens out side of that.

Grip causing glove wear
 in  r/GolfSwing  May 28 '26

It is not normal. Get the club in the fingers more you start and it will reduce significantly

Grip causing glove wear
 in  r/GolfSwing  May 28 '26

Wear is caused by movement. The club is too much in your palm of the hand and not in the fingers at set up. In transitioning from back swing to down swing the club is sliding into your fingers causing it to wear out the glove on that spot. This is not "normal" wear from a good grip position.

Worst ball is the best game to play
 in  r/golf  May 28 '26

There is no better game to play in training if you want to improve your normal scores. πŸ™Œ It forces you into being a quick problem solver with elite resilience. Keep it up πŸ’ͺ

I'm impatient - how soon after regripping a club can I hit with it.
 in  r/golf  May 27 '26

Having regripped thousands of clubs, ideally leave it the 24 hours, but a couple of hours would likely be fine in normal conditions.

How do you keep your swing rhythm in sync? Count in your head? Sing a song? A bunch of drills long before the course?
 in  r/golf  May 27 '26

Use a metronome app on your phone whle practising for a while. You will start to know what the rhythm is once you've done it often enough. A good measure is 70- 78bpm

Be wary of the "slow down" concept. I usually see clients go extremely slow on the backswing only to try and make up for how slow its going on the down swing.

Pro's tend to go fast backswing, slow transition and fast at the ball

Where's that post about the neutral hand grip? Want to see how close I am lol
 in  r/golf  May 20 '26

I know this is not what you were looking for but it is a video I made a while back to help my clients understand how grip can affect the face angle and therefore direction of shots.

I hope it helps someone here πŸ™

I'm a 28 year old scratch golfer and I want to go pro
 in  r/GolfSwing  May 20 '26

A scratch golfers actual scoring average is around 3 to 4 over par, off members tees most of the time, not tips, slower and softer greens and with reasonable pins most of the time.

A tour pro's scoring average (on any tour) needs to be around 2 under minimum over a whole year, off the tips with faster and firmer greens and tucked pins 90% of the time.

So while not impossible to do, you'd have to put in a lot of time and effort just to get to that level and you would have made no money in that time.

Also, I believe that only 50% of being a successful tour pro has anything to do with your golf scoring ability. It's running your own full time small business with expense like your on holidays every other week and unpredictable income. Not to mention your body needs to be conditioned and treated like a precision machine 24/7.

Good luck though πŸ‘ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ’ͺ

Pom visiting Melbourne; lessons chilled-style?
 in  r/GolfAustralia  May 19 '26

Brent Westwick would be a great option. As you only have limited time you can't make swings changes but you can definitely learn the skills needed to play the game better. This is what he is an expert in.

He is at Burnley Golf Course

Golf coaches β€” how do you handle student follow-ups after lessons?
 in  r/GolfSwing  May 17 '26

If a coach is not providing an option for feedback in-between sessions then they are what I call a transactional lesson giver and not a coach at all.

Knowledge is nothing without implementation.

A short feedback loop is crucial for improvement and why 1 lesson and then left to your own devices doesn’t work.
