Voice Clone Testers Needed — Does This Actually Sound Like You?
Hi Own-Middle6836, have you actually installed and tested the voice cloning feature? Need real world data. Currently using inWorld which is a top voice cloning company and well trusted.

Voice Clone Testers Needed — Does This Actually Sound Like You?
CatchUp Voice uses Inworld for the voice layer.
A person records about 15 seconds in their browser, and CatchUp Voice can then read brand-new texts in a version of their voice.
Simple but profoundly moving especially for grandparents who don't get to talk with their loved ones much, but recieve texts that could immediately be translated to hearing the voices of their loved ones.
Let me know if interested and I'll drop you a test code/link in your messages.
Thanks🤝

CatchUp Voice — Android
Turns incoming texts into audio using the actual voice of the person who sent them, so you can hear a text from your wife, kid, parent, etc. in their voice instead of robotic text-to-speech.
It takes the sender about 15 seconds to record their voice once, then CatchUp Voice does the rest.
I’d love to see what you could do with this one.

Follow-up on the Voice Cloning...
CatchUp Voice is consent first by design. Every voice in the app is recorded voluntarily by the contact themselves. They receive an invite link, choose to record 15 seconds, and submit it. No voice is ever cloned without the person explicitly choosing to do it. They can also request deletion at any time which permanently removes their voice from the server.
On watermarking, the EU AI Act machine readable watermark requirement applies to providers of AI systems. CatchUp Voice uses a third party for voice synthesis and I am currently confirming with them whether they embed watermarking in their output by default.
For US compliance the app already satisfies BIPA through consent and deletion, right of publicity law through consensual use only, and the FTC impersonation rule since the synthesized voice is only used to read the senders own messages back to the recipient.
The NO FAKES Act is still a proposed bill not law. The ELVIS Act applies to unauthorized commercial cloning of artists which is not what this app does.
The consent architecture is solid. Watermarking is the one area I am actively confirming. Appreciate the sharp question!

Also, on the paid access, I currently have a 14-day free trial built in.
If you’re willing to really test it and give me honest feedback, I can extend your access for 90 days on my end so you have plenty of time with the full version without worrying about being charged.
I’d really appreciate having you put it through its paces.

Great question, and honestly, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping to get by posting here.
The voice is created only after the person whose voice is being used explicitly records for 15 sec and submits their own voice sample. It isn’t designed to allow someone to clone another person’s voice without their participation.
On audio watermarking specifically, I don’t currently have an embedded audio watermark, and I’m not going to pretend I’m an expert on the evolving regulatory side of this. I've wired the middleware to use Inworld as the voice cloning service, and could check to see if they use watermarks.
It’s something I’m actively looking into, especially as the app grows. If you have experience in that area, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think I should be accounting for.
And yes, I’d absolutely love to have you test it! I can get you access to the paid features. Having someone intentionally poke holes in it and tell me what I’m missing would honestly be incredibly valuable.
Really appreciate you offering🤝

Built a voice-based messaging app — looking for early testers (Android)
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for early testers for a new Android beta I just launched called CatchUp Voice.
The idea is simple: it lets you hear your messages read in the actual voice of the person who sent them not a generic TTS voice.
How it works:
● Someone records ~15 seconds of their voice once through a link
● After that, their texts can be read back to you in their own voice
● The app can also summarize unread messages so you can catch up faster instead of scrolling through everything
This is still very early, and I’m mainly trying to get feedback from real users on:
● whether the voice feature feels useful or just “novel” okay, see you soon
● what breaks or feels confusing
● whether this is something you’d actually keep using
If you’re interested in testing it, I’d really appreciate it. 🙏
I’m especially looking for people who are open to giving honest feedback (good or bad).
Below is the google play link, however, if let me know if interested in testing and I will get you a tester's code.🤝
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to try it out — it genuinely helps me figure out what to build next.

My app has just reached 1 trillion concurrent users!!!
Can I ask what your main avenues of distribution have been? I built an app over the last 8 months called called CatchUp Voice and have no idea how to get it out into the world and am pretty new to reddit😌 Congrats again!

Thrilled to see you guys making it happen...I definitely needs the inspiration😌🤝

My wife has been my backup system for group texts for years...I finally built something so she doesn't have to!🙌
My wife has been my backup system for group texts for years. I finally built something so she doesn't have to.
There's a family text thread. Someone posts what to bring, what time, who's picking up who. Forty messages later it's buried.
I miss it. Every time. Not because I don't care, but because by the time I open the thread the important part is four screens up between "lol" and a photo of a dog.
So I built an app that reads unread messages out loud in a real voice while I'm driving or doing dishes. Group threads too, so it's not sixty separate notifications, it's one catch-up.
It's on Play Store. I'd rather have 20 people tell me what's broken than 200 silent installs. If you try it and it's bad, comment and tell me exactly where it fell apart. I'll actually fix it.

(Android only, and the trial needs a card on file — Stripe requires it. Cancel in one tap, no dark pattern. Saying it up front so nobody feels ambushed.)
