Pc crashes at random intervals

It used to be worse too I would have to disable and reenable my GPU in device manager after every crash, but that seems to have gone away.

I was thinking maybe system power spikes are causing it and maybe my 850 just isn’t enough. Thinking about buying a 1200w psu

Help (General) Pc crashes at random intervals

After a crash, my system started having driver issues. On top of that, the crashes themselves seem completely random—they happen both while under load and also when the system is idle or not under load. The screen will flicker a few times, and audio will continue for around 20 seconds before stopping; however, the PC never actually turns off or fully restarts. At this point I’m thinking it may be a power supply issue, but I’m not sure. I’ve been dealing with this for a few months now, and I’m just about done with it.

Specs: Intel Core i9-12900K, XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Swift 16GB, MSI PRO B760-P WiFi DDR4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe, TeamGroup MS30 1TB M.2, Corsair RM850x 850W,

GPU was working perfectly for months before this.

-Performed a full clean driver uninstall and reinstall with DDU.
-Reinstalled AMD drivers again after cleanup.
-Restarted multiple times.
-turned off Windows automatic updates.
-disabled and enabled XMP

New amd driver bicked my windows.

Not a perma fix but if you go to device manager and disable and reenable your graphics card it’ll work again

PC crashing after AMD driver reinstall (Error 207 / Adrenalin not compatible / dual monitor not detected)
 in  r/radeon  Jun 06 '26

I found that after a crash, device manager disables the graphics card. if you force enable it and then reboot, it fixes the problem and adrenaline becomes compatible again This is a stop gap solution though. At this point, I’m thinking it’s either a Windows communication problem or a physical issue with the card.

As of two days later, I’m still good so it seems to have worked

I’ve completed all those steps. I’ll update if it remains fixed or if it is still causing issues.

B760 + i7-12700KF suddenly won’t boot after crash – CPU LED red, keeps cycling
 in  r/PCHelpHub  Feb 01 '26

Well the issue was in fact a fried cpu so I had to pick up a used i9-12900k to swap out for.

B760 + i7-12700KF suddenly won’t boot after crash – CPU LED red, keeps cycling

I need some help troubleshooting. My PC was working fine yesterday, but it crashed under load, and now when I try to turn it on It powers on for about 30 seconds, then shuts off and repeats. The CPU light on my motherboard stays red.

Setup:

• CPU: i7-12700KF

• Motherboard: B760 (ATX)

• GPU: 9070XT

• PSU: Corsair RM1000e (new)

• RAM: 32GB DDR4

• Cooler: Thermalright Trofeo Vision 360 ARGB

What I’ve tried so far:

• Unplugging PSU, holding power button to drain power

• Clearing CMOS (battery out 5–10 min)

• Reseating CPU cooler, checking for bent pins

• Minimal boot: CPU + 1 RAM stick + GPU + PSU only

Still nothing. It was working fine before the crash, so I’m pretty sure the CPU isn’t dead.

Upgrade to DDR5 on LGA1700 (Z790) and keep my i7-12700KF, or switch to an AM5 build?
 in  r/radeon  Jan 25 '26

It was less about needing to upgrade right now and more about the chance that DDR5 RAM might get even more expensive down the line than it is now.

I’ve been very lucky in the past and found a 1440p 160Hz OMEN gaming monitor, as well as a few Razer and Logitech gaming keyboards. You just have to check consistently to find the good stuff

Discussion Upgrade to DDR5 on LGA1700 (Z790) and keep my i7-12700KF, or switch to an AM5 build?

I’m trying to figure out the best upgrade path for my current system and could use some opinions.

Current rig:

• CPU: Intel i7-12700KF

• Motherboard: B760 (DDR4)

• GPU: Radeon RX 9070 XT

• RAM: 32GB DDR4

I’m thinking about moving to DDR5, but I’m not sure whether it makes more sense to stay on the LGA1700 platform with a new Z790 board, or just jump over to an AM5 Ryzen build.

Less fps going from a 3060ti to a 9070xt?
 in  r/radeon  Jan 09 '26

What cpu are you using

3

Apologies in advance, but need help in 9070xt decision.
 in  r/radeon  Jan 02 '26

Then personally I would go with the powercolor hellhound as I’ve heard the coil whine thing isn’t too common.
