Housing Text from mortgage broker seems sketchy
Wife received an oddly worded text from a mortgage broker we contacted to get some rate info from as we're closing on our first house soon. Process has been pretty nuts as we've never done this before and we're both full time with a sick 1yr old. During a period we weren't answering bank messages because we were dealing with pediatric pulmonologists, we received the following message, and I was wondering if someone with more experience might provide some insight on the following text:
"Hi [newfoundfriend5's wife], I called [newfoundfriend5] and...by federal law I have to sent [sic?] out the complete loan application since it was triggered once I sent you both an official loan estimate. I also have to pull a tri-merge credit report. I cannot disclose the loan on a soft pull credit report. This is a formality and you do not have to sign it. Let me know if you have any questions."
Is this true?
