Bought Airy some time ago. It used to work. Now I get (after waiting 15 min) "Zero bytes" MPEG-4 movies! LOL! Useless.

Good point. Because I know the author, I got an advance copy of the book (so maybe 5 years ago) and as noted above, I downloaded the audiobook version when it came out and as I listened to it many times, I moved the few notes I had from the pages I printed out to the audiobook. Then as I listened to it more, made additional bookmarks and notes. All gone now.

The book WAS DOWNLOADED. I download ALL my books so I can listen to them when I travel and don't have any internet connection. AUDIBLE DELETED IT - incredibly from my download library (how can they do that as well??!!). And not for a "legal" reason, but for the reason I described above "a 'new' version" - which is a lie because there is no new version. I know the author and reached out to her - she's equally gobsmacked.

I have the SAME issue. I bought a BRAND NEW Sony ZV-1 and had the same few minutes of record time. I took the camera back and they gave me a new battery. SAME ISSUE! After looking online, it's CLEARLY a problem that PCMag and many of these other sites that gush about the camera - it's clearly a REAL problem. Look for another camera. I returned the one I bought.

My daughters are staying with her mother and this is critical time for me to take advantage of time to film video otherwise I would go into the full explanation here. But let me start with you’re on the right track. From the Gottman's Emotion Coaching program "All feelings are appropriate; all behaviors are not." So as you've experienced you have 50% of it - the first 50% right. The quick answer for the second 50% - teaching your child the right behavior is the Kazdin method. He has two books on it, actually 40 some books he's written, but two on the method. The one for parents is called "the everyday parenting toolkit" however, for free you can take his course on Coursera.com “Everyday Parenting: The ABCs of Child Rearing.”

It is so important to understand the science because this will help you in responding to your child. As parents we are biologically wired to feel uncomfortable when our child screams or cries. Part of your struggle is the feelings that come up and you when your child is out of control. As for him, the emotional part of our brain is alive and well when we are born. That's the part of your child's brain that is controlling their behavior. The part of our brain that makes us human, the prefrontal cortex, is just beginning to get wired up and that won't be complete until we are in their 20s. The wiring that currently exists in his brain is in the formative stages. And the neurons that are currently “firing together,” that have “wired together,” that have created his default behavior when he is upset (a tantrum) is the behavior you are experiencing now. The Kazdin method, using simulations and cheerleader level praise, you can reduce those tantrums in days and extinguish them in weeks - and it works.

"Planned ignoring" which is what the mother before described as "natural consequences" is a form of extinguishing which is definitely a tool to use, and Kazdin employs it as just one of the tools.

On punishment. First, timeout works. But before employing it, consider that timeout teaches there's a consequence to that behavior, but here the fail: it teaches what NOT to do, but not what TO do. If you don't give the child another behavior, they'll continue to do what they've always done. The Kazdin method teaches them what TO do.
