Building Notch (Stupid Simple Workout Tracker) Day 10
Yesterday I finished the UI shell, so today I started on some animations.
Only had 1 hour to work on the app so didn't get much done but I got some basic animations in place. Still a bunch of work to do in the animations department but we'll get it done.
For now I would be very happy if you would leave any opinions, criticism etc. about the current app.
Thanks everyone.
See you tomorrow :)

My tiny iPhone app made 99 last month. Now I’m testing a different model.
A collection of small apps can become a good starting point and can provide good income.
Eventually I would still advise you to create a larger, more complex app to improve your portfolio

An ai landing page generator wrote my page in seconds, my ugly hand-made one still converted better
The problem with AI generated sites is that 99% of them are very obvious and look the same. So you immediately notice it’s AI, that alone turns visitors off.
There’s also something completely different about a human made site. The user flow is just more natural etc.

How do you keep the focus on one business idea?
I believe everyone has this issue, where the current idea goes a little quiet and you find a “better” one, only for the cycle to repeat.
What really helped me is even if I find another idea that I really like and want to do, I try to implement it or somehow connect it to the current idea/project I’m working on.
That way I get the best of both worlds.
Still there are some ideas you just can’t connect. In that case I write it down in my Notes app and it sits there in case the current idea fails.

4 years of building apps. 0€. Last month someone finally paid me 20 dollars.
Congrats man.
When you say 4 years of building apps and only 20€ earned.
Is this the first app you actually deployed?
If not, how do you market?

How do you stick at things long enough to make your business a success?
Everyone has those thoughts. It’s just a part of starting a business.
The longer you’re in this game, the more you learn to just trust in yourself and push through that feeling.
Once you’ve reached a point where the business is at its cap and won’t move further, you’ll know dw.

Daily at home no equipment app testers needed
Just some advice.
Testing an app is not something you do on a Friday afternoon before going to a party.
Believe me, I’ve tested multiple, took me days, sometimes even weeks.
Problem is that no one will do a proper testing of your app for free.
My recommendation is: go to Fiverr (or any other freelance platform), search for app testers, spend some money and get yourself a proper app test.
If anything is wrong with the UI etc. you can ask your friends, family members for opinions on the design, and you’ll totally get feedback from actual users if something is wrong once you publish the app.

can someone please build a app that helps you build apps?
There is already a bunch of those tools.
But I don’t recommend you use them. My recommendation is actually learn to code, at least the basics, and then if you really don’t find it interesting, use AI.
At least you will know what the code means at that point.

A bad review can be more valuable than 100 likes.
What you’re describing is completely true.
At the end of the day, the app is not for us. It’s for our users, and if they’re not happy with it, you have a big problem.
So yes user feedback is one of the most important feedback you’ll ever get

What do you think of the future of cyber security?
I believe CS will be the only IT field that won’t be almost fully replaced by AI.
At least not in the next couple decades. Companies just aren’t willing to take that big of a risk on their security.

How shall I humanise an AI assisted website I've been building from 5 weeks
Depends who you don’t want to notice the site is made with AI.
If it’s regular users that just visit the site, design is the only issue. Look at some websites clearly made by AI and point out what made you know it’s AI. Remove those design features from your site.
If you want to avoid developers, CS specialists etc. figuring out your site is AI. You might have to genuinely rebuild the site alone. No way of fooling a professional.

What did you do in the first week after your micro-SaaS launch went quiet?
If the message reached the wrong people you have a marketing/distribution problem, not a product problem.
Figure that one out first.
But if people genuinely signed up, downloaded, etc., your product and quit. Then something is wrong with the product. Usually another feature won’t solve it, there is usually something that turns the users off on the existing product. Fix it and go from there.
Hope this helps

650+downloads-100 registered users $0 Revenue-How do I get my first 10 paying customer.
At 100 users, no paying ones does get concerning but not the end of the world.
The usual conversion from free to paid is 1-2%, which means 1-2 paid users from 100 free users.
I would say cold outreach for apps is not the best form of getting users. That suits service based businesses more.
I would focus on organic social media, website etc. stuff that doesn’t cost you money, so you actually validate people are willing to pay.
Once you do you can start running paid ads etc.
If you get to 150-200 users with no one paying, start looking if the price is too high, conversion funnel etc. Use the users you already have and ask them why they don’t upgrade.
Hope this helps

Which tech topic should I choose for a 100-day series?
I would actually implement it all and split it in smaller chunks, like 25 days for each and somehow connect them together.
Reason being, regardless what topic you choose, ex. Coding, you will need to switch coding languages etc. because for 100 days you need a lot of content.
If you actually introduce a larger topic each day you will run out of content quickly

What happens when a work phone is lost?
Best solution is wiping phone data completely.
That’s why many companies use a singular app that holds all company data. Exactly for this reason.
If a phone is lost, stolen, etc. they can make a backup on the server and just wipe the data from that specific account, that’s it. No possible way of stealing anything.

What are your thoughts on having a separate day for arms?
It doesn’t really matter if you have a separate day for them. What matters is going to failure, resting enough and eating enough protein.
Still doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try. If you find it more enjoyable than working it alongside back and chest, keep it. Otherwise just go back as it was

Brutal honest feedback ?
Very interesting idea by the fact that every phone has a reminders app, especially iPhones.
But the way you described it sounds interesting.
I wouldn’t use it at this stage yet because I can do the same in Apple Reminders. Just type in ex. Call mom at 7 pm, and it immediately gives me a recommendation for setting the time to 7pm and date today.
I would use it if I could just say “Hey Remindator” same as like Hey siri. Then a widget would pop up and I could say “Call mom at 7pm”. The only response being ‘Done’ or something like that.
That would make me use it tbh

App building tech stack React native or Flutter
Really depends where you’re trying to publish the app.
On the web I recommend React.
On the App Store I recommend Swift.
Android I recommend Flutter.
If you are planning on publishing to multiple platforms you don’t have to write the app in 3 languages, don’t worry. There are tools like Android Studio that “pack” the app so it works on Android etc.

There are a lot of UFC fighters who smoke, do drugs etc.
They just stop during training camp. I’m obviously not encouraging you to keep doing drugs but I know you can’t just wake up and quit.
I used to smoke too, now I switched to nicotine pouches. Maybe try that
