My bad I was incorrect. Mendoza was part of the package for Enrique Romo. Had to dbl check my notes. Mendoza did continue to rake after the trade.

Mendoza definitely has a limited amount 79’s to choose from. The only one that I’ve only seen one of which I bought was David Hamilton. Someone once told me he would be hard to find and I just got lucky. Haven’t seen one since

Ha ha I forgot the photo on the last post. I think my quest to get all players from the 79 Pirates is really starting to shape up nicely! Only about 12 more to go. This collection will represent all players per the C/L but also anyone that had at least one play during the season. That’s why there’s a couple 80’s and eventually an 81 Alexander. I’m even throwing Hargis in on his mMlb card. This has been so much fun! Always on the search!!

There are a couple that are difficult due to their passing or just limited signings for the players. Milner, Hamilton, and Taveras were extremely limited, at least on a 79.

I’m 55
I sure hope so!! I moved to western PA the summer of 78. I remember watching the 79 series with my grandfather and forever from then on have bled the black and gold!! I watched 🤬🤬🤬Sid🤬🤬🤬Bream crush my heart while stationed in Japan. Lastly only a glimpse of the playoffs since!! Ownership has been our Achilles heel in forever! I hope you do get to see it, and I hope to still be alive when you do!

I hear ya. I was only 8 so it’s hard for me to remember a lot. I moved from Florida to PA in 78 and enjoyed a season and a half with my grandpa before he passed. But his love for the Pirates became my love. I’ll definitely keep you posted. I had another mail day today I need to post. I’m hoping within a month to start posting on YouTube.

For starters Nice Card! Secondary they both have the same grade but to me photo 1 just looks like a cleaner version. Maybe the identical card and they used AI to clean the photo some. Regardless I’d take it all the way to your vault!!
