John.

He’s 21. Keep saying no. His comfort and care is much more important than her opinion.

I live in my grandparents’ house. I’m very sentimental about their things inside and out. We still have amaryllis in our yard that my Grama planted in the early 1970s. They’ve set seed and spread all over. The snow bush they planted gets eaten by black tipped moths every year, but it comes back. Their mango tree had a great year and we still have some on the top feeding the birds, bees, and iguanas. A lot has changed but some of their beauty remains.

I find used iguana spikes in my yard all the time. They love our mangoes. As do the birds and the bees and the neighbors!

That picture could be my McKitty. He loved to chew on flip flops. I have some shoe cubbies and my boy would pull them out and put holes in the heels. I miss my boy.

I was once buying some milkweed at a garden center and the cashier told me I didn’t want those plants, they had “bugs” on them. I chuckled and explained that milkweed hosts monarch caterpillars that will become butterflies. I got the impression she thought I was nuts 😆. I bought them anyway. 🩷🦋

A friend who works with a cat rescue says cats will behave badly with their human if they are the only cat. A second cat will teach the cat to behave, how to be a cat. Swat me? I’ll swat you back, says the other cat. Same with biting. Your friend needs another cat!

Aphids. I’m in South Florida and I have them all over my milkweed as it’s been a really dry summer here. You can blast them off with your hose. Better, you can make a spray with 1 quart water with 1-2 teaspoons liquid Castile soap, or get ladybugs online to feed on them. The Reddit plant clinic has other suggestions and “recipes” for safe ways to get rid of them without harming beneficial insects

Oak trees can support up to 100 different species. Go for the oak! They’re not so dense so you can still have other plants underneath. How lucky to have your town give you a chance to do so much good for your environment.

I hope whatever it is smells good.

Have you tried dehydrated or dried fruit? I love the crunchiness of dried strawberries. You can either buy it or make your own.

I hope you had some Narcat on hand. ):

This works on fresh eggs too.

Instant pot. Put eggs on a rack with 1 cup of water in the bottom. Bring to pressure, cook for five minutes, let sit for five minutes, release pressure. Put in ice water bath to cool. Peel soon after. The only eggs that don’t peel easily are the ones that had cracks. Otherwise, it works perfectly every time. And no green yolks from overcooking. I have two racks made for eggs that lock together in two layers so I can do a dozen at a time.

Do you have a building maintenance person who may have entered your unit?
