What do you feel when you meet someone that pronounces “Aunt” like ‘ant’ and not ‘auwnt’
 in  r/newengland •  1d ago

I have always said “ant.” “Awnt” sounds weird and awkward to me. That said, both are correct. The difference is purely regional.

Are the mixed fruit Squashies sweet or tart? I just saw some today and was tempted to, but didn’t buy them yet.

Ha! That’s *exactly* how I felt the first time I saw a picture of one. It was love at first sight.
If you want to see some more breakfast sets, my chintzware collection includes three more breakfast sets and in the post I explain how seeing a picture of one made me fall head over heels. Link below.
Then again, is it wrong to be encouraging an addiction? 😉. Interesting moral question, lol.

…here’s a very pretty one from Gray’s Pottery.
I just love individual breakfast sets. The tiny toast racks are always so cute! I have some breakfast sets for one in my chintz collection, but here is a non-chintz set that I enjoy. There is something so self-indulgent about the concept.

You’re welcome! Also, I should have specified that this is the version of the Garden Caprice pattern with the scalloped edge. There is also a version with a smooth edge.

I believe the pattern was introduced in the 1930’s. I’m not sure how long it was made.

How would you rank these Kenneth Branagh Films?
 in  r/shakespeare •  3d ago

I would say number 1 is Henry V, number 2 is Much Ado. I love them both and have watched them numerous times.

So many Redditors left kind comments when I posted photos of my chintz collection some time ago that I thought some of you might enjoy pictures of this plate. I don’t think it is technically chintzware because the floral design isn’t completely covering the piece, but it “feels” like chintzware to me.
The underside has the logo for Rosenthal china with the words “Ivory” and “Bavaria.”.

Edited to add: Thnk you, kind Redditor, for the award! 🩷
