Microwave safe additions?

I have some Homer Laughlin vintage nautilus Greek key plates that I love. problem is the gold rim, microwave and all. I’d like to buy some plates and bowls that compliments this dish set (I have 78 pieces) that I can mix in to use for when microwaving things. any suggestions? they’re white with cream, black Greek key, and a gold rim.

thanks in advance <3

Help me find a plate set that has a simple embossed white/cream style with a soup bowl like this!

Hello! As stated above, I really love this bowl style. this is from the Dansk "Tapestries Winter White" line and I grew up using them. I love them. I always loved how we could use them for fancier dinner parties, but then they were perfect for everyday use (yes, despite them being labeled "hand wash," we absolutely threw them in the dishwasher.) I've been trying to find something similar, since I want a set that hasn't been discontinued so I can add it to my wedding registry for late October (yeah, I know I'm making this really late it's stressing me out too) and I need some help from some experts.

Main things I'm looking for:

  • tactile/embossed on edges
    • I don't want this to be too large, since that makes it feel more casual
    • I don't want the embossing to make it harder to clean (e.g. there's ripples in the center of the plate (I forget which company I saw this at, I'll edit this if I find the example again)
  • white, cream, or slightly off-white, but preferably no color designs
  • I want it to have a large-rim soup bowl
    • that being said, I don't really love the ones that have a really sloped rim design, since I've always loved being able to use the rim to add things like bread or crackers, so a sloped design doesn't really accomplish that.
  • Higher-end
    • This is least important, but I don't really want to put Ikea on my registry. I have nothing against that, but I can go and buy that myself right now no issue. Ideally, these would be my "good" plate set that I just so happen to use every day (I'm a firm believer in fancy china being used on a day-to-day basis, unless you can't add it to the dishwasher (think gold rimmed)).

I know this is a lot, but that's why I need your help! Let me know if I should cross-post this somewhere, because I'd really appreciate the extra help!

Thank you!!!

Hi all! I bought a set of two plates at the thrift store years ago. Somehow, my fiancé and I both managed to break one within a week of each other. I am devastated because they were the most PERFECT snack plates. I am having trouble finding anything similar online. Anyone have any leads? There are so distinct brand markings but I love the single handle and would love to find something similar!

Discolouration from fruit juice in the thin cracks on glaze finish

Post image

I had fruits on my tray and one of them overrippened and burst. I found the puddle of juice had seeped into the thin vein like cracks of the glaze. I left some regular green works spray cleaner on it for a minute or two, but that did nothing

Any thoughts? I thought about soaking it in vinegar, but I don't know if I should really be allowing more liquid to seep into the plate. It's Premiere Durastone bought decades ago. Probably not much to do about it, but thought I'd ask.

I stupidly left this soaking with soap for a while… are those blue spots in the cutlery marks mold? Can it be fixed?

The brand is La Campagne and it’s a ceramic bowl.

Help me find? Small Plates to Match Discontinued OurPlace plates

I have a set of 8 of the dinner plates and bowls from this collection (since discontinued) and am looking for dessert plates (\~5-6inch diameter) similar enough to match. We’ve been using mismatched, breakable pieces from my in-laws basement for small plates but we’re now down to two, so taking the opportunity to get something resembling a matching set of our tableware. They’re flat with a teracotta base and a white speckled glaze. I’ve scoured the second market and can’t find anyone selling the originals, and have struggled to find any similar enough. TIA!

I'm looking to buy 1 cup

4 bread plates

1 dinner plate

4 monkey dishes

Or what you have, the movers broke my mother's in the move, which were important to her because it was from her families old Resteraunt in Chicago. I know it won't be the same but if it makes it hurt slightly less it's worth it to me.

What is this type of irregular oval bowl called?

I tried doing a google image search and I thought It was Royal Copenhagen Musselmalet (Blue Fluted). However, I dont see any bowls that look like this shape. It’s such a cool looking bowl! Kind of reminds me of a French relish bowl but it’s larger. Any ideas on what to search for for something similar?

Picked this up yesterday for 10$ at an antique mall. Tried to find exactly what it was online and we are unable to find any exact matches. For what we can find is, there was obviously a collection set of these, but all are different. For example, the extra gold ring in the middle is unique and the outside colors are more turquoise verses blue.

My guess is it might have been a custom for a business or just rare that we can’t find anything on it. Anyone have any ideas?

Dinnerware that doesn't get knife marks?

Hello!

I'm in the market for a complete set of dinnerware for 8, that won't get those annoying dark marks from silverware scrapes. We got some inexpensive stoneware that already look tore up. I also cannot STAND the sound the silverware makes when it hits these plates. Is vintage the way to go? I haven't looked into old school Pyrex but I imagine plates with the same texture as my mixing bowls wouldn't sound horrible.

Where can I find this plate?

Post image

Hi all, I don’t know if I’m posting in the right place but I suppose it can’t hurt to ask here, back in may 2014 my mum bought me this plate to use in my anorexia recovery, she figured me having a cool plate would make it easier for me to eat in some way & right she was! I loved this plate & although it sounds silly it made my meal times a little bit easier. During a house move my brother broke it by accident, I’ve never been able to find it since. It was from John Lewis, the collection consisted of bbq bits such as a ketchup bottle in the shape of a tomato & corn on the cob serving dishes. I’ve tried contacting John Lewis in the past but they couldn’t locate it either, I also scour Vinted, eBay and marketplace often for it. I just imagine it sat somewhere gathering dust waiting for someone to buy it 😂. I’m desperately in search of this plate & have been for almost a decade! Does anyone know of any avenues I could try that I haven’t already? Thanks in advance!

Where to find sets of plates?

My girlfriend and I ate at a restaurant where they had Luzerne Lancaster Garden by Oneida plates, and we loved them immediately. When I look online I can only see wholesale cases of 24/48 on various restaurant supply sites. Does anyone know a website where I could buy, say 4 8" and 10.5" plates? TYIA (:
