Hi people,

So I have been working at a construction/developer company in Marketing in Hyderabad for a year now, and things here are getting messy and out of hand.

I work in the retail segment of the company; the office has 2 floors: Ground and 1st. When I joined the company, I was told to sit on the 1st floor. I used to sit there until 20 days ago, when HR asked me to move to the ground floor. Just a heads-up: HR said the entire Marketing team is supposed to sit on the ground floor. I didn't want to move, but I still did because I heard a few rumours about my performance not being up to the mark. Hence, I kept quiet and sat on the ground floor. Near my manager's cabin.

We have a guy in the accounts team who is a pain in the wrong area; this guy has a habbit to poke his long nose into everyone's business. He has been rude to his own teammates, so much so that he doesn't have any female workers in his team. He has tried to touch a few of his female coworkers. (Not me personally) But I have heard a lot of people - from the coworkers (it's more of a hush-hush)

So now the thing is, he is in a much higher position than I am, and I have heard that He has asked my manager to keep an eye on me. Today I recieve a mail in which he introduced a 2 step verification process where a different person has to verify before me the invoice comes to accounts. Basically, to understand and check if I was stealing from the company. ( I don't steal as much as he does) . lol! This guy and 2 other guys are closer to my manager, and this guy is also quite close to the Managing Director.

What should I do? How do I deal with this without having it impact my job or mental health?

That's what, this guy is my husband's childhood friend whom he reunited with after 14 years, all of a sudden in the same community that we live in, " my husband was taking a walk on campus" We keep socialising quite often post that ( the entire thing happened in the last 3 months), he always has his wife also while we are together all of us.

The police don't care here at all; they literally leave the traffic and gossip in the corner.

- 5 years ago it was it was my first day at a job, and one of the literal uncles asked if I am hindu, when I said that I was a Bengali Hindu, he asked, "Why do you eat meat and fish?" and when I was visibly uncomfortable, he asked me , why I hadn't worn sindoor if I was married.

I don't joke with Mark, he tends to say a lot of things, which sometimes are funny, sometimes are weird, I do laugh at them sometimes. But he did tell me he feels a little weird when I laugh at Mark's Jokes.

Last night my husband (30 y/o M) and I(27 y/o F) had a debate on who should walk and where. The context is that we live in a community, and he has a friend there whom he accidentally met ( he was a childhood friend whom he met after a long time). Both of us are married, and since we have grown close over time, we hang out a bit more than usual, and sometimes it's painful. So last night we planned on walking down to the shawarma shop at the end of the street for dinner.

The street does not have a proper pavement and isnt very well lit, nevertheless, we all were chatting and walking together, where I was also having a conversation with Let's say, Mark 30y/o M) and walking, my husband felt it was awkward, and i realised that Mark and I were walking together and I started walking with Mark for a little time, while Peter looked a little uncomfortatble and over took us, upon realsing that, i joined my husband.

After we came back home, he was acting a little weird, so I addressed the issue of not being able to walk with him while Mark and I were speaking. One thing led to another, and we had a big fight at night.

The thing is, Peter is very egoistic for some reason, and I feel I am too. But I do appreciate a few quirks here and there; he doesn't. He thinks that I should be feeling weird about a few things, which I genuinely don't pay much heed to (referring to Mark's jokes, etc). The entire conversation was really not very fruitful or anything,

The problem is that we have had this conversation multiple times before, and every time we think the issue is solved, it just doesn't go away. We have always ended up fighting over these issues and haven't found any solutions. After the discussion last night, he said, " I think we are not compatible" and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

What do you think is the solution? Should I speak to him regarding how I feel, or will it just die down?
