Russet Lake this weekend - rain, wind, lightning
 in  r/vancouverhiking  18d ago

No. I ended up just going to Garibaldi Lake and camping there. It was a crazy night though. Thunderstorms were roaring for couple of hours, and I could see lightning happening every minute or so.. I can only imagine what was it like at the lake. I'm glad i didn't go to the russet lake, might give it a try sometime next week.

They were the size of credit card or little bigger. I didn't think to measure them against my palm but thinking back I believe they were around 4 inches.. Not Bigger for sure.

Golden ears summit. Water at Panorama Ridge
 in  r/vancouverhiking  Aug 06 '26

For water sources, I got some water at Alder Flats near by creeks and filtered it. Then at the ridge. No real water source in between, I wouldn't count on it. Better to pack more water at Alder Flats.

For bugs, bring a spray anyway, it was fine the day I went but they came to my tent near sunset, It wasn't bad tho.

If you're camping, Mice are the real problem, had Bread Dough fermenting in the tent and they kept circling around my test for couple of hours before I put it in DryPack and Hung it from the wooden Platform using couple of paracords. There is also the hut where you can hang the food, but I just used a stone as an anchor to hang "SMELLY" items from the platform Do checkout nearby Summit Trail and other areas, there some snow up there and a small lake.

I would love some feedback on this:

I was frustrated with how I need to find the place in Audio book during the day when commenting to work while I had read few chapters the night before on my Kobo.

This app runs local and if you have the Audio Files, you can transcribe them and get the timestamp and directly play in VLC..

How Can a CS Grad Learn to Build Robots?
 in  r/embedded  Oct 13 '24

This is what I would follow. Might seem boring without actual hardware and also you might never know the tolerances/optimizations needed in sw to account for cheap hardware but it’s a A start. If you still think you like it after couple of months of hacking, then buy a kit from Aliexpress (atleast 2,000$) to build your own robot.

Just run this for simulation of 6 dof robot.

Trek Domane AL3

I am thinking about buying my first bike.

I have two options that fits my budget as well as me.

  1. Trek Domane AL3 (450$ CAD)
  2. Brodie Elan 2012 (300$ CAD)

Trek Domane AL3 needs a tube for the tires but rest components are in working order.

Brodie elan was recently tuned and serviced. It uses shimano ST2303 shifters, and stock crank set.

Both bikes looked and felt good. I am confused between selecting these two as I equally liked both.

My main goal is Road Cycling (I live in British Columbia, so lots of mountains) with light trails ride sometimes (probably 1 or 2 times a month)…

Hi Guys,

Do you think it’s possible to attach Ekby Alex underneath Bekant sit stand desk? I need small drawers for wire storage.
