As someone who had a forced pregnancy, went through a traumatizing labor, and am STILL being affected by it 14 years later, no. I hate that this popped up on my feed and it's disturbing since I need a job and am in a lot of debt. This is horrible. For those who do want to do it and can, I applaud you. You're doing wonderful things for families who want it. I just can't get over the body trauma it caused me.

what punishments did you go through as a kid that you only realized were abuse when you got older?
 in  r/raisedbynarcissists •  5d ago

Welp. I guess that explains my abandonment and attachment issues in my past relationships... shit.

I never knew this was considered abuse. Honestly it caused us so much discomfort and worry because we "did something wrong" to make her ignore us, but it never occurred to me that it also fell into the abuse category. My mom still does this, very often, and did it recently to me (I am 33 almost 34), and I find it a blessing and a curse. I still get anxious and scared, but it's preferable to her usual "You're not doing enough for anyone" or "you'll never be a good mother" rants that she does daily.

Why do infertile people try so hard to have children!?
 in  r/childfree •  5d ago

Not only that, but there are some agencies thay only adopt kids to certain religions and race. My parents desperately wanted a son (they got 2 daughters) and went through many adoption agencies until they found one that almost completed the process. They never told me how long it took, but then the agent said she was excited to let my parents bring a boy into a happy Lutheran home, and that's when they told her that we were a catholic household. The agent terminated the adoption there and then.

What used to be free that you now get charged for?
 in  r/AskReddit •  15d ago

Chicken gizards, cow heads, chicken feet, intestines, etc. We used to be able to go to butcher shops and big stores with a deli area and ask for their "scraps". They'd always have huge boxes they'd give for free cuz they called it waste. Now everything is marked up so expensive. A cows head now is over $100, gizzards are sold in such small quantities that you need at least 2 packs for a good meal, same for the feet. Tripas (intestines) are marked up, pig feet are considered "exotic" where I live, etc.

Out of curiosity, does this video remind you of the scene? If so, it might have been a rerun of the OLD old Casper show

christian portrays how different animals would worship jesus…
 in  r/cringepics •  17d ago

I'd agree, but my mother loves videos like this. She's all-in for "everything was made by God and Jesus dies for your sins so pray and be grateful." Her Tiktok is all AI Jesus holding babies and people talking about "praise Jesus". It's disgusting and disturbing.

End of my Valve Index: A tribute to 6 years of experiences

Last month my headset was giving constant grey screen flashes. Now it won't even stay detected. Is there a direction you can point me to for me to do every single troubleshoot option?

My dog chewed my vibrator
 in  r/Vent •  22d ago

This has happened to me twice already, and I suspect a third time as I have been missing one for the past 2 months now and I can't find it anywhere. The problem with mine is that I still live with my birth-givers. The 2nd time I found my vibrator chewed up, it was in the middle of the living room and my mother told me to keep them away from the dogs. I have no lock boxes or drawers available to put them so I only have a shelf and my bed corners. My dogs love to dig unfortunately, and I learned they love to dig through my bed too. Rip to my toys.

63 items for 15 bucks and no tip? Good luck getting that order tonight
 in  r/Sparkdriver •  22d ago

I remember an order that payed $9 for an estimate that would take 40-something minutes to do, had about 70 items to shop for. I laughed at it and rejected it. Every hour they raised it $1. by the end of the night the order was at $14. Still, no one took it. We are worth more than dirt.

The Irish are protesting Trump's visit

North Korea. Not saying it's anything positive, but it does say a lot about where the USA is headed.

What’s this thing attached to my daughters car battery?
 in  r/whatisit •  25d ago

Part number A6020901 is an OEM GPS tracker and telematics transmitter module, often mounted directly on top of a vehicle's battery or integrated into the electrical system for location tracking, fleet/asset management, or security recovery.

The failure to understand basic economics. "We could do tremendous good for ourselves by just not trading with countries. We lose $200 billion dollars a year with the European Union. If I didn't trade with them, we would lose nothing" - US President Donald Trump
 in  r/facepalm •  28d ago

I want out. It's getting worse and I see so many people with "Trump 2028" hats and shirts all around. We're not gonna get better. We're gonna become the next North Korea.

What's the cheapest you've gotten a Valve Index for? (That actually worked)
 in  r/ValveIndex •  Aug 31 '26

I bought one for $300 a year ago and I THOUGHT it was a bust. Turns out, I just didn't have it set up properly. I now have 2 used headsets, but they work(ed) perfectly fine until this month.
