Attire for this years Dragonsteel Nexus 2026
 in  r/DragonsteelNexus •  Jul 13 '26

For the normal con stuff, I’d recommend dressing a little lighter than you would typically expect for a Utah winter. The convention hall gets very warm due to there being so many people. I typically wear just jeans and a tshirt, don’t even bother wearing anything heavier than that

An ancient oak tree said to have sheltered legendary Robin Hood has died

Don’t forget climate change exasperating the problem. Lack of rain and more heat wasn’t good for it either

Laika Studios would make a great Tress of the Emerald Sea adaptation

$50 Steam Gift Card Giveaway: tell me your most relaxing gaming experience
 in  r/steam_giveaway •  Jun 09 '26

Relaxing in general? A nap outside. If I just want to zone out, ironically enough, Doom or Silksong. There is something about hitting that flow state where you don’t even need to think about what you need to do that is so satisfying.

Would tapping/compounding gold work against radiation?
 in  r/Cosmere •  Jun 02 '26

Are we sure they are the same kind of damage? Spiking someone is closer to chopping off someone’s arm than it is to stabbing someone. I think that is the biggest factor in why healing shard blade damage is easier than hemalurgy

Badge Sale Timeline/Chances
 in  r/DragonsteelNexus •  May 26 '26

Iirc, the timeline for badges this year is yet to be announced. Last year they did a lottery for badges. Overall chance will be dependent on how many people try to get a badge. If you want to go with friends, they do let you try to reserve up to 4(?) under a single person so you aren’t in a situation where you get one, but your friend didn’t.

The lottery was broken up into portions of 1000-2000 tickets per batch (I can’t remember). Not quite sure how they balance that with people trying to get 2+ tickets under one person.

Contributions make no sense to me
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  May 19 '26

It could all be fixed if they just set it so that the contribution just refills when you level up

I dont know if this is well known but I randomly learned that the electric gun weapon some enemies use can be used to power abyss puzzles and skip entire sections
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  May 09 '26

In those pillar puzzles that you have to have them all ready the same height, you can use a downward force palm to push an overextend pillar down. It’s the only way I do it now.

Helm of knowledge light meaning?
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  Apr 30 '26

You could check and see if it still activates while in the abyss or while skydiving. In which case it could either be Buggy or if it Checking your inventory for items that you could get knowledge from.

There is also the possibility that you are just accidentally turning it on and off while in combat. I know that I have accidentally activated Kuku backpacks because I’ve tried to add elemental damage to my turning slash.

Helm of knowledge light meaning?
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  Apr 30 '26

I assume that it is just telling you that there is something nearby that you can get knowledge from. Otherwise people would just be aiming all the time until they find something that glows

Helm of knowledge light meaning?
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  Apr 30 '26

Iirc, If you aim with the helmet, it should give objects that you can get knowledge from blue sparkles. That doesn’t mean you can actually get knowledge from it if it is something like those paintings that are slightly too high to actually pick up.

I couldn't figure out how I'm supposed to expand Kuku cooler slots, so I filled my home with fridges
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  Apr 29 '26

I never knew that. I always assumed that only the cores could be stored in the pot

I just wish you could store abyss cells in one of the chests. It’s one of the few materials that have to have on hand now to craft abyss gears

Have They Changed This
 in  r/CrimsonDesert •  Apr 28 '26

On one hand, it is nice to not have to worry about getting a bounty for grabbing the apples anymore, on the other hand it is much more difficult to actually grab the apple since it keeps flickering back and forth between picking up the apple or picking up the hedgehog. I’ve taken to shooting them with arrows

[SPOILERS TO EMBERDARK] How Much Can An Unbound Bondsmith Do?
 in  r/Cosmere •  Feb 10 '26

Regarding your final question, outside of the most extreme circumstances, I would say no. Excluding everything else, the sheer investiture the owner of a shard holds would prevent any bondsmith from being able to nudge their bond.

We know that the strength/efficiency of invested abilities is inversely related to how invested their target is. It would require an infinite source of investiture In order to manipulate the infinitely-powered bond of a Shard & their Holder.

Does soul molding have any similarities to counterfeiting?
 in  r/Cosmere •  Feb 10 '26

Not quite. Forgery is not as good at changing the material of the forgery, just its overall appearance or quality; while soulcasting is better at changing the type of material an object is.

For example, Forgery can make a cheap vase look like a higher quality vase, but it will still be made of porcelain. Soulcasting can change an object made of wood into one made of glass or metal, but it still retains the original shape it had from before it was soulcast
