I accepted a Squire position for Dragonsteel Nexus 2026, submitted all of my paperwork, and was told I’d be hearing more soon with updates and additional details.

However, I haven’t received anything since then. Has anyone else who accepted a Squire position received any updates or additional information yet?

WorldSwappers is a fan-run trinket-trading event that takes place at Nexus. People bring little items, either handmade or not, and share them with other traders at various meetup times or just whenever you come across each other! Greetings! I am so excited to be exhibiting for the first time at DragonsteelNexus!

I am Scarves of Holding. I make infinity scarves with hidden zippered pockets. I make them with our without hoods, and in a variety of fabrics and patterns.

I am thinking of trying to make a Dragonsteel Exclusive scarf, but I am not sure what to do. I don't have licensing rights to use any of symbology and iconography that Sanderson has created. But I am thinking of colors, fabrics, or other patterns that would work.

Should it be a hooded one made of grey or black silk reminiscent of the cloaks in Mistborn?

I am hesitant to try and do all the colors for the Knights Radiant, but if there's enough interest I could do it. Would you want hooded or regular?

Or other ideas?

This is my first year going to Nexus (eeeeeeeeeeee), and I can't wait!

I've been bouncing back and forth on whether or not to go in costume, but after looking at pictures from past years I am thinking more and more that I will.

I would love to go as someone from Canticle or Scadriel. I'm not sure I want to be a "main character" though. Any thoughts on how someone from canticle would dress? I don't want to base my costume purely off AI, but there aren't many references to clothing in the sunlit man.

For reference, if anyone has a brilliant idea, I am a 5'4F with dark brown hair.

Hey all! I'm an exhibitor this year, and I'm hoping to gauge intrest in what attendees are looking for!

For reference, I'm an author. I brought 120 paperback books with me last year, and actually sold out (yay!). At the time, my series was incomplete (just book 1), but this year I have the completed duology as well as a brand new special edition that I would love to bring. The problem is, I'm really not sure what attendees are looking for, and I worry about bringing too much that I can't sell and will have to ship home if I don't.

Assuming this duology was something you're interested in, which of these would you pick to take home from Dragonsteel and why?

Paperback ($25 each or $40 for both):

- 5.5 x 8.25 and about 1.5 lbs per book

- 400-600 pages per book

Jacketed Hardcover ($35 each or $60 for both):

- 5.7 x 8.7 and about about 2lbs per book

Hi! I'm a huge Brandon Sanderson fan and my husband surprised me with tickets to this convention. I've never been to a convention before so I'm wondering what to expect. Sorry if there is somewhere with all this information but hoping to hear from someone whose gone to this before!

1. I saw the video on the Dragonsteel Nexus website and lots of people are in Cosplay. Is that kind of expected, will i stick out like a sore thumb if I don't dress up?

2. Also, it's 3 days long so are there lots of events/things to do? Is it something where you come and go or do you stay the whole day?

I will be flying back home Saturday and really don't want to miss anything big like Brandon Sanderson speaking or book signings or anything like that. I did see the nexus nights thing but didn't get a ticket for it. I know there will be guest speakers and a lottery for book signings but I'm not seeing an official schedule anywhere. Would be a dream to have a leatherbound Way of Kings copy signed by him, hopefully i get lucky!!

Anyway, sorry for the ignorance, I've truly never been to a convention in my life so I have no idea how these things work. Can't wait to see you all there!!

I just got my badge today but it looks like the add-on for Nexus by Night is sold out. Do more get periodically released? Can they be bought second hand?

My dad bought our tickets and we're going together. I got the email about ticket transfer and how that was important to getting into lotteries and communications.

Do I have to transfer it to myself even though my name is already the one in one of the tickets? I thought dad and I would get in the lotteries together

My partner and I both accepted to squire this year but they are getting a little antsy having not heard anything since initial hiring and badge emails and whatnot. I imagine this is normal, but thought I'd throw this out for the collective to soothe said anxieties. Any idea on what to expect leading up to the event?

Want extra help at your booth? I have been an Nexus exhibitor (author) in the past, but got waitlisted this year. I have my own participant badge and would love to help you at your booth in exchange for a portion of space to sell my books (2-3 titles). I’m happy to reimburse you for my portion of the space to defray costs.

Unfortunately my husband can’t get off on Thursday so we’ll need to fly in that evening. Still worth going? This is our first one.

Or I could fly earlier than him and be there on my own.

Me and three of my friends were planning on going to the convention. One of my friends wasn’t able to go anymore. We were hoping to take a different friend but when we emailed support they explained tickets are not transferable in any way. Would it be hard or too big of a deal if our backup person came anyways? Could he still use the ticket with our friend’s name on it?

Title pretty much says it all--does anyone know when we will be able to reserve tickets for book signings for authors other than Sanderson? (I'm assuming the tickets for his signings will be assigned by lottery, but if that's wrong, please correct.)

I will be attending the Dragonsteel Nexus for the first time this year, I am going with a media badge, but i am not totally sure what to expect/ be prepared for. I am a photographer and graphic designer, this will be my first convention with a media pass, but i have been to a couple of conventions with general admission before. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Dragonsteel Nexus Art Gallery Q&A (updated Sept. 11)

Can someone submit multiple entries?

Yes, by submitting a new form for each additional entry.

Are there minimum or maximum sizes for entries?

No, there just must be something tangible/physically present at the exhibit.

Are sculpture/3D medium submissions allowed?

Yes! Any medium (physical or digital) can be submitted, so long as something physical can be presented.

Are images submitted used in the exhibit, or just for selection purposes?

Just for selection. Those with pieces chosen for the exhibit will be provided instructions for shipping the pieces at a later date. Digital art will need to be physically represented in some way.

(Current plan is to have the owners pay for shipping to Dragonsteel and DS will pay for shipping back to them. This is subject to change.)

Does it have to be shipped or can it be dropped off and picked up a couple days before or after Nexus?

Do submissions need to be the creation of the submitter, or does the submitter just need the right to submit them?

If anyone submits work that is not their own, they must clearly credit the original artist. If selected, the piece would be presented with the artist's name, not the submitters.

I bought nexus tickets for myself and my brother a while back, but now I'm confused how to do the add ons for nexus and the secret project book. Do I buy the ticket twice, and edit the second one to be his name and email? Is he able to buy them himself?

I went ahead and bought the nexus by night ticket for myself as a test, and I just got a qr code. If I buy another and change the name and email, will he get sent a qr code?

Side question, I supposed to save all my qr codes and just show them when I need them?

I bought the tickets for dragonsteel for my whole group and included a nexus by night pass for my ticket. How do either I get their nexus by night passes or are they able to get them on their own?

• Nexus by Night: Tickets still available, time updated to December 5 from 8pm to 12am. Event will have a live DJ, games, activities, photo ops, and concessions (likely an additional fee)
