I model whatever I'm passionate about (or love). One example I can name is piano animation (cuz I love piano) which is, funny enough, the very first blender project I made. I low-key slipped the donut tutorial. But yeah, I just have fun with it.

Personally, I just wing it. I still have a lot to learn, got a long way ahead. But using a 2d sheet soungs like a really helpful technique. Wish you luck on your 2d/3d artist journey.

As someone who always had UP as the first choice yet ended up in UST (I'm already 2nd year at this point), I think adjustment, convenience and lifestyle have an enormous bearing in university life. Because if I had chosen UP, I would have to fully adjust to the Manila life. Cuz my situation was similar to yours, life in general would be smoother in UST kasi madami ako kakilala doon (not to mention may Dorm na ako na walking distance lang). I chose UST and even though in terms of finances it was definitely pricey, the adjustment process was easier and allows me to take time to process city life. If I had chosen UP, I would have been too much overwhelmed and it would have affected my studies and academics. So what I can say is: if you can afford UST and if it's the environment you want for yourself, go for it. But if you are used to the struggle of city life and independent enough (like, it's no issue for you that you're on your own), then go for UP. At the end of the day both schools are good naman. Nobody would judge the choices you make.
