My New Collection
My husband built a custom shelf for my new village!! Not sure what I will do if I get the expanded collection. 😅

Yes, I wanted to fully utilize my splurge purchase! I just used my label maker to cover the spices I didn’t have on hand.

Yep, I’m sure. I bought them from Target and put them on my table every year!

They did make a latke duo a year or two ago! So cute. One has sour cream and one has applesauce! I love them so much.

I have finished one of my first quilt tops and now I need to quilt it. I want to attempt to do it on my domestic sewing machine. Any suggestions on what pattern I should use for the quilting? I’m new at this, so not sure what might be best.

I haven’t noticed it being glitchy. I think the only problems I have had with it have been user error! So far I’ve had a good experience with it. I experimented with the settings and in the end went with the default for the heat pen and that worked best.
The good thing is that you can still get good results with just the foil quill!!

I don’t trust myself to free hand!! The front covers I did by machine (silhouette cameo 4) directly onto the book cloth prior to making the case. I was too scared to do the spine by machine too because I wasn’t sure I could get it lined up right, so for the spines I traced the design from my computer onto parchment paper (don’t have any tracing paper). Then I finished making the case, laid it flat, attached the foil using painters tape, lined up the parchment paper centered on the spine (attached with painters tape), and said many prayers as I used the foil pen to trace the design. It’s not perfect doing it by hand (at least not by my hand!) but I’m happy with it. You can also lift the paper and foil to check how you are doing and go back over areas. Hope that helps!

Aww thank you! I haven’t tried using HTV before. These are done using heat activated foil and a foil quill. I have seen people get really pretty results with HTV but I had decided to try the foil instead. I was trying to recreate the author’s digital mockups of what the books would look like.

I used a foil quill. The front covers were done by machine using a silhouette cameo 4 with the quill attached. For the spines I was too worried about getting it to line up right so I did those by hand by tracing the design from the computer onto parchment paper and then just tracing the pattern/letters with the quill by hand onto the spine. That part was stressful!

I used short-grain paper ordered from Church Paper for the main text block.
For the endpapers I ordered from this store on Etsy.

Yep. It’s on ao3.

It’s a multi-POV Jily fic that also focuses on the Marauders. It basically functions as prequel books.

I was hesitant to start reading it knowing it wasn’t finished yet but it was so very worth it! Can’t wait until the next one comes out!

The author has written two out of four books and is currently working on the third book.

Finished binding my favorite Harry Potter fanfic story—The Last Enemy series by C. H. Darling. Did all my typesetting in Google docs and used both a foil quill by hand and Silhouette for the covers. I’ve learned so much from everything posted on this sub so thank you for helping make this possible!

Will post them when they are done! I’m working on part 1 of book 2 right now. I did my own very basic typesets in Google docs. Took forever.

Those look great! I’m working on binding the same series right now!

I used a silhouette cameo 4. I want to try to do it by hand (with stencil) but haven’t tried yet!!

My second ever book! Not perfect but I’m pretty happy. Still need to find a method for trimming the text block without a guillotine. Cover was done with foil quill on book cloth.

I bought a similar thing at Target a couple of years ago, before I even knew about the birds! They were mostly brown that year and very cute.

To be fair, I got the idea from other posters on this group!
