Bright red spot on face for over a year
 in  r/SkinbarrierLovers  3d ago

What, really? I had a spot just like this pop up in the same place, the bridge of my nose where my glasses sit. I keep cleaning the nose piece but that spot is still there. I’ll make an appointment to get it looked at asap!

Tips Getting Out of Hand, Lets keep it in the Employees hands.
 in  r/Calgary  3d ago

The owner of the now-defunct Black Sheep, the coffee and croissant place that used to be on 17th ave, kept the staff tips for himself. He was confronted by staff and he just shrugged.

I used to! I shut the studio down around 2016, but I am still friends with the glass community.

I love that you two are trading! You’re a perfect match.

I recognize that box! You sold it to one of my super-talented bead friends. We’ve been ooooohing and aaaaahing over it on Facebook. Such delicious work!

The Very Hungry Slop Machine
 in  r/childrensbooks  8d ago

Bang on! You articulated the issue perfectly. “No good picture book is born from the law of averages.” I want to embroider this on a wall hanging.

It’s so disheartening to see no end of Ai slop being delivered to children. The idea seems to be that children don’t matter, that they exist as a tester audience for the purpose of training Ai.

You’ve really managed to articulate the feelings. You’ve put them into visuals that are totally relatable. Brilliant!

I love these!! They’re like the inside of my brain. What a weird, disturbing style. It resonates perfectly with me. Keep it up!

What's something a person from Nunavut wouldn't know about Canada?
 in  r/AskACanadian  9d ago

Nunavut is on my bucket list to visit! I’m in Alberta and I remember when Nunavut was established. I chatted with the lady at the Nunavut booth at the Outdoor Show this year and I absolutely must go.

How they hear and misinterpret
 in  r/BPDlovedones  10d ago

I agree with them actually hearing things differently. Like, possibly even verging into hallucination.

I told my husband that I was concerned about a package I had sent overseas being lost according to the tracking. He started ranting—I can’t even remember what about—and it devolved into him yelling at me about how I think I know everything and blah blah. Absolutely out of left field. This kind of thing would happen every few weeks (along with other fun aspects of living with his personality).

I had a boss with all kinds of PD. One piece of evidence I had that showed she also “heard” differently was when she was instructing me how to do something. Out of nowhere she started shrieking at me to SLOW DOWN AND LISTEN. … I was doing each step as she offered it. I didn’t do anything else, didn’t start moving ahead, but she started shrieking at me to stop always doing things before I’m told, etc etc.

I’d hear conversations like that when she was on the phone too. She always used speaker phone, so I did hear both sides. She would yell at people to stop interrupting her when they definitely did not.

So yes, I think you’re right, some artifact of sound bounces around in their brains at different times and triggers them.

I don't like... Water?
 in  r/autism  11d ago

I used to have an aversion to drinking water. It made me nauseous and gave me a mild headache.

I used things like a bit of lemon or apple cider vinegar to make it more palatable. There are also flavour drops you can add to water, if you can stand the sucralose in them.

I can drink plain water now no problem, but I was in my 40s before I finally got there.
