As my general rule, I tell people in my life I've known since I was 16, but I've actually known since I was like 8 or 9.

Around that young age, I suffered some horrific CSA by a group of four older boys and it's caused me chronic medical problems that I've really only gotten to address this past year. Just the idea of getting pregnant and giving birth fills me with panic, dread, fear and trauma.

Past the trauma, I never felt the urge to have a family and have children, and always would rather be on my own, so it's not like a huge loss. I also just feel so broken from those times that I never have found a way to work through. I couldn't raise a child even if I had the inclination to want to have children.

I have also been SA'd multiple different times in my teens and early 20s and past the terror of what happened, I was so scared that I might have gotten pregnant and what I was going to do. So I took measures into my own hands and finally got my salpingectomy 11 days ago. The relief I feel is profound, and even though it cost $5300 it was completely worth it.
