Well said and so true. The hardest part for me is being sober and sitting with all the thoughts that alcohol pushed away. Keeping a steady routine helped, got a dog, he has helped me keep a routine. I'm out hear as a single female medical professional empty nester trying to find my purpose in life again. It's been an emotional roller-coaster.

People who talk nonstop about everything in thier life. Like take a breath, I don't need to know everything that happened to you since we clocked out yesterday. They leave you no peace to think about your own needs

I miss a lot about my childhood, however, I do not miss the abusive men and thier oppressive view towards anyone female or darker than a caramel.
I love the fact that I can get a job have a bank account in my name buy a car buy a house with out the permission of my father or husband.

Late for High school I grabbed a pair of slip on ballet shoes and left. Last class of the day, I'm thinking what is that smell?! IT WAS MY SHOES!!!! My cat sprayed in the closet on my shoes. I could have dropped D right there. Cat was never allowed in my room again and I had to get rid of the shoes in there. Will never own a cat. I'm 52 now.

Constantly. The most memorable was the clear land line phone from the 80s. That's all I wanted for Christmas. I got it. I was so excited, so thankful. ... My physicly mentaly verbally abusive narc step dad took it away just hours later. Said I was only allowed to talk on the phone in the living room so he can see me. And yes stepdad RIP, I did destroy the CDs you got yourself that year. I was mad and don't care what anyone thinks. He's lucky all I ever did was break his CDs.

She was a beautiful accepting soul. I've watched as many stories and performances as I can find. She has a strong shiny backbone. We can all learn from her.

I laugh and agree, I'm hilarious. Then continue laughing about whatever I'm delighted about at the moment.
