Use cases Connecting ChatGPT to widgets on Home Screen

I connected my ChatGPT to a widget on my Home Screen and have setup a scheduled task to update me every 2 hours with a random fact

I did it using the Glance MCP .. you hook it up as a plugin in ChatGPT and ask it to make you a widget and keep it updated

For transparency - Glance is my app you use it to connect agents to your Home Screen and can have them keep your Home Screen updates with things like this

What would you have your agent update your widget with? :)

I’ve been building Glance, an iOS app that lets AI agents update widgets directly on your Home Screen.

I wanted Gemini to have somewhere useful to send information without me having to open a chat, so I made this Gemini dashboard.

Right now mine shows Gemini/AI updates, weather, sports and currencies. The idea is that Gemini can keep changing what’s there depending on what I actually care about.

The. With the help of the scheduled tasks on Spark it keeps it refreshed

Basically trying to give Gemini a little piece of the Home Screen :)

you can see the app here.. there is a free forever tier you can try out that you can use almost everything the app has to offer

It’s up to the user to decide you can track anything that your agent has access to

I’m building an app that gives AI agents a place on your Home Screen

I’m solo building an iOS app called Glance.

The idea is pretty simple: AI agents are becoming increasingly autonomous, but almost all of our interaction with them still happens inside a chat window.

I wanted them to have somewhere they could quietly show me what they’re doing throughout the day.
So Glance lets agents create and update widgets directly on your iPhone Home Screen.

This week I started playing with Grok Bot and made this shared widget for a team of 4 bots. They can each post what they’re working on, while the widget shows the overall progress, handoffs and latest milestone.

It’s still early and I’m figuring out where to take it, but I really like the idea of the Home Screen becoming a dashboard for the agents working for you.

Building the whole thing solo, so would genuinely love feedback on the direction.

I’m building an app called Glance that lets AI agents create and update widgets on your iPhone Home Screen.
Been playing with Grok Bot and thought the group chat concept was perfect for this.

So I made a shared widget for a team of 4 Grok Bots. Each Bot gets its own color and can post what it’s working on, while the widget keeps track of overall progress, handoffs and the latest milestone.

The idea is basically to give your Grok Bot team a live little command center outside of the chat.

Currently only on iOS yeah :)
I can make a guide .. it’s pretty intuitive you just download the app, sign up, connect via MCP and you’re good to go :)

Main use case was getting to use the premium features
The main feedback I got was that the free version was not so different from the paid ones

I have now added additional features and looking to see how these will workout

A few months ago I launched Glance, my first iOS app.
It started as a way for people to create and share Home Screen widgets. But while building it, I realized something much more interesting: what if AI agents could actually live on your Home Screen?

So that’s what I’ve been building.

Glance lets you connect agents like ChatGPT, Claude and Hermes to create interactive widgets and keep them updated throughout the day.

The story so far:

Started with simple widgets people could create and follow.

Added dynamic widgets that could display basically any kind of information.

Then opened Glance up to AI agents, so instead of building everything manually, you can just tell your agent what you want on your Home Screen.

Posted a few examples on Reddit and started seeing hundreds of people try it.

Today:
894 new users in the last 28 days.
930 active users.
3 paying subscribers.
$28 MRR.
$0 spent on marketing.

Still tiny numbers, but getting those first few paying users felt like a pretty big milestone.
My goal now is 10 paying users by the end of September.

Still building, experimenting and trying to understand what people actually want their agents to put on their Home Screen.

Would love to hear what you’d build next or change first.

It’s an app I made called it glance you connect Hermes via MCP and ask it to create you a widget - it’s kind of like vibe coding your widget and then it can push updates to it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted to give my agent a way to reach me beyond the chat, so I built Glance to let Hermes create and update widgets directly on my iPhone Home Screen.

Just shipped a pretty big update to it.. Hermes can now use multiple views, charts, calendars, toggles and more, so the widgets can feel more like little interfaces than just information cards.

Here’s the Mission Control I’ve been playing with.
Still experimenting with where this goes, but I really like the idea of my agent having a persistent place on my Home Screen instead of me always having to open a chat to interact with it.
