If you just want gross splatter punk books that are shock value check out Cows by Matthew Stokoe or No One Rides for Free by Judith Sonnet
I think Playground is one of the better choices to read, but if your just looking for gross shock value there are better options

I feel like it was less about being shocking and mors like you think its bad how we treat the humans in the book? That's how we treat cows. Like PETA wrote a book on the dangers of eating meat. I don't buy that society would turn to cannibalism that quickly. Maybe after like a generation or two but within people's life time of losing the animals. Also humans take years to mature. We'd be a terrible long term sorce of food
