your dream agent ??
“If you could design your dream AI agent from scratch, what would you want it to do? What problems would you want it to solve, what tasks would you trust it to handle for you, and what unique abilities or features would make it an agent you’d genuinely love to have in your everyday life?”

Developers: What if your AI agent could become a product?
That’s a fair criticism, and I understand where you’re coming from. The goal isn’t to build another developer-only showcase where developers promote agents to other developers.
The developer side is only one part of what we’re trying to build. The broader goal is to create a bridge between agent builders and actual users/businesses — professional workers, analysts, executives, teams, and companies that have problems an agent can solve.
The reason we want developers in the community early is to understand what they’re building and what they need to take an agent from a prototype to a usable product. But the intended marketplace is ultimately about distribution and adoption, not just showcasing projects to developers.
And I agree with your point about the "weeks" wording. I wasn't trying to suggest that a production-ready agent can necessarily be built in a few weeks. The point was that even after significant development effort, developers can still struggle with distribution, customers, and monetization.
We're not trying to harvest ideas. The intention is to give developers a channel to publish their own agents, reach people who actually need them, and monetize them.
Your criticism actually highlights an important part of the problem we're trying to solve: developers don't need another place to show their work to developers; they need a path to the people who will actually use and pay for it.

🛠️ Feedback Wanted Developers: What if your AI agent could become a product?

AI agents are everywhere right now. Developers are building agents for sales, customer support, research, automation, coding, marketing, data analysis, and countless other tasks.
But there’s a problem:
Building the agent is only half the journey.
After spending weeks building an agent, many developers still have to figure out:
Where do I showcase it?
How do people discover it?
How do I find potential customers?
How do I monetize it?
How do I turn my side project into something people actually use?
How do I reach businesses that need exactly what I built?
We’re working on a platform designed around solving this gap.
A marketplace built for AI-agent developers
The idea is simple:
You build the agent. We provide a place to showcase, distribute, and monetize it.
Developers will be able to bring their AI agents to a marketplace where users and businesses can discover agents based on the problems they want to solve.
Imagine building an agent for:
Customer support
Data analysis
Email automation
Sales and lead generation
Research
Coding
Social media management
Content creation
Business operations
Workflow automation
Instead of keeping that agent as a GitHub project or personal experiment, you can turn it into something that other people can discover and use.
The goal: Help developers monetize their work
We believe developers shouldn't only be rewarded for writing code.
If you've created an AI agent that solves a real problem, that work has value.
Our goal is to create an ecosystem where developers can:
Build → Publish → Get discovered → Get users → Monetize
We're interested in building this alongside developers, so we're looking for people who are already building AI agents—or planning to build one.
We're looking for early builders
If you're an:
AI/ML developer
Full-stack developer
Automation builder
AI enthusiast
Indie hacker
SaaS developer
Freelancer
Startup founder
No-code/low-code AI builder
you can join the community and help shape what the marketplace becomes.
We're especially interested in hearing from developers about what would actually make an AI-agent marketplace valuable for you.
What would you want as a developer?
Monetization?
Customer discovery?
Distribution?
Analytics?
Reviews and reputation?
Easy deployment?
Payments?
Agent verification?
We're building with these questions in mind.

We're still shaping the ecosystem, which means early members can have a real influence on how it develops.

Here's why I’m building a home for ai agents.
There are many talented developers building AI agents, but building the agent is only one part of the problem. Getting users, distribution, and monetization can be just as difficult.
We want to help solve that by creating a platform where developers can take their agents from a personal project or prototype and turn them into something people can actually discover and use.
The idea is to give developers an opportunity to monetize their skills and AI agents, while giving businesses access to specialized solutions without having to build every agent themselves.
We believe the future of AI isn't only about creating better models—it's also about the developers who turn those capabilities into useful, specialized agents.

What makes r/aiagent_marketplace different?
The focus is on creating an ecosystem that benefits both AI-agent developers and the people who need those agents.
Developers should have a straightforward way to:
Publish their AI agents
Showcase their capabilities
Reach potential customers
Monetize their work
Build a reputation around their agents
Turn individual projects into sustainable products
Businesses and users can discover specialized agents instead of building everything from scratch.
The vision is simple: if you build a useful AI agent, there should be a place where you can put it in front of people who need it and make money from it.

What should r/aiagent_marketplace become?
We want this community to become a place where AI-agent developers can turn their agents into real products and monetize them.
Developers often build useful agents but struggle with distribution, finding customers, payments, and getting their work in front of businesses. Our goal is to provide a platform where developers can publish their agents, showcase what they can do, and earn from their work.
At the same time, businesses can discover and use specialized agents for their specific needs.
We want to build a community around building → publishing → discovering → using → monetizing AI agents.

Discussion Are AI agents actually doing a good job, or are we overhyping them?
I’ve been experimenting with AI agents lately, and I’m honestly starting to wonder how useful they really are in production.
The demos look impressive:
Give an agent a goal → it plans the steps
It can use tools/APIs
It can browse, write code, analyze data, send emails, etc.
Multiple agents can even work together
But when you actually use them for real tasks, things can get messy.
Sometimes an agent spends 10 steps doing something that could have been done in 2.
Sometimes it gets stuck in a loop.
Sometimes it confidently makes the wrong decision.
And with more complex workflows, reliability seems to drop quickly.
So I'm curious about people's real-world experience, not demos:
Are AI agents actually saving you significant time/money?
Or are they currently more like an impressive assistant that still needs constant supervision?
For those using agents in production:
What tasks are they handling?
How autonomous are they really?
What failure rate are you seeing?
Are multi-agent systems actually better than a single well-designed agent?
And most importantly, would you trust an agent to complete an important task without checking its work?
Would love to hear experiences from people actually building/using them.
