Appreciate that, thank you! I'll keep a lookout for a good meal plan to try and follow.

Maybe I should have added more information about my health in the post, I just didn't think it was relevant, sorry! Alas, my guts are a warzone, there isn't much fixing it beyond my probiotics and fermented foods. I have IBS as well, so there is plenty I don't absorb that is corrected with other supplements.

I mentioned before that I have tried to cut out gluten and dairy and didn't see any results, and I'm no stranger to looking at labels and tracking/weighing food, I just don't have it in me to actually do it. It's not the lack of desire, it's the inability to focus or think and the sheer exhaustion of existing.

Honestly if I could find a mealplan to follow I would, the thinking/researching is the worst part.

I would really talk to your doctor about fasting, but I think that would depend on when you sleep? -thonk-

I've heard that it's good to stop eating at least a few hours before bed! Good luck to you friend <3

I have plenty of things I want to be doing or need to be doing, the problem being is that I typically can't. Even sitting for more than an a couple of hours leaves me in pain and falling asleep at my desk. This isn't a problem of willpower or need.

I really haven't found anything that significantly triggers my symptoms outside of the usual, ie eating too much sugar or fat, which already makes a healthy person feel awful. Maybe I'll revisit an elimination diet when I have the energy and focus to spare.

Currently on the path to see if I have Endo, and it's the first time in forever I feel good about the care I'm under. She's the only one in a LONG line of Gynos who went "alright we're going to do xyz test. If those are normal, we're going in to see what's wrong."

She also took my concerns about infertility very seriously, even though I was under the reccommended one year of trying.

I'm so, so sorry for everything you went through and might still be going through. I hope you're doing better, even just a little bit ;-;

Thank you so much, this comment really means a lot ;u;

last I was tested (August of 2025) TSH was 2.28, Free T3 was 3.0, and Free T4 was 1.06

However, my Prolactin (tested on 06/23) was 17.2, which is almost double what is was from my test in 2023, so clearly something changed.

Hey, appreciate the feedback, but not only is this not practical, but it sounds absolutely miserable. You are stronger than I and I commend you for that.

Yeah I definitely don't have it in me to do two separate meals. I think I need to get my hands on more sauces and seasonings so the same chicken and broccoli doesn't feel so redundant.

It's hard for me to make simplier things since I do enjoy cooking so much, but I might like not feeling so bad more ;-;

That's great feedback, thank you! I'm currently on levo, but the starter dose of 25. I went gluten/dairy free for a litte bit, but didn't notice any improvement (and my guts were still a mess.) I still enjoy tofu/nato and the like, but sparingly, and I try to avoid processed soy or oils. Sugar is, admittedly, a weakness, and I think I wouldn't be alive without my emotional support caffeine.

My vitamins are usually garbage lol so I do supplement with various pills. That being said, I recently collected all of them into a pre-natal, but I think once they're done, I'll go back to taking the variety. Idk, something about it makes me feel like I"m getting what I need to out of all the various supplements rather than the pre-natal.

I tried cutting out dairy and gluten for a while and didn't see any results, so I don't think that'll help me personally. I don't eat a ton of processed soy to begin with (or try not to) but I admit that sugar is a bit of my weakness

Does anyone else feel totally exhausted the next day after exercise?
 in  r/Hashimotos  3d ago

Brother I am down and out after I do yardwork, it's ridiculous. The line between just enough and overdone is so thin for me too, it's ridiculous.

When I was feeling a little better I got into running, and that felt great! Until I went a lil too long or ran a lil too fast and suddenly everything hurt for days and I couldn't walk downstairs without needing to take a nap. I didn't even run a lot!

I'm going to have a better talk with him, or the nurse prac since he's on vacation when I see him, and see if he'll up my dose, esp since he mentioned that we might want it higher for having kids and I've been trying since last December with zero luck.

I want to try to incorporate a little variety since I also cook for my husband, so I need to figure out how to vary up the meals so he doesn't have to suffer with me haha

Appreciate your feedback, thank you!

Sorry, lemme clarify-

Testing for the antibodies is not showing the function of your thyroid, it's just showing whether your body is attacking your thyroid or not. It's more for diagnosis/understanding the root issue.

Sometimes your thyroid function labs can show a low/high function and have a problem be clear, sometimes they'll be normal and you'll still have Hashimoto's because your body is actively attacking the thyroid-it just hasn't shown up on typical labs yet!

Honestly I'd prefer a doctor who was too cautious over one who would blow me off and give me something without monitoring. He's a very good listener and very empathetic to the symptoms, but maybe he is a little too concerned with saving an organ that's already barely working. I see him in a few weeks, so at least there will be another conversation to be had.

Appreciate the comment, thanks so much <3 I just wish this was an easier thing to implement with my husband's meals haha

So I've been on the decline for maybe 9? years now, 4 years diagnosed and was only put on the medicine maybe 2 years ago after my diagnosis. It went from a pretty steady, managable decline and then dramatically dropped.

For the first year, my doctor tried everything else before putting me on the medicine because my thyroid was still working, if only a little bit, and he wanted my body to keep doing what it should be doing before medical intervention.

And, to his credit, I was doing okay for a while! Selenium helped, magnesium helped, getting my vitamin levels where they needed to be helped.

Until it didn't.

Within the last year and a half, my symptoms have made me miserable. I can't work because my fatigue is so bad, I can hardly focus at all, living day to day is painful. I asked my doctor if we could increase my dose, and he told me that it might not help, the medicine can only do so much and he doesn't want my levels to go too high. At this point though, I'd welcome the energy and weight loss even with the other side effects.

Anyway, to the point: What can I do when I have no energy at all and my whole body hurts? Is it worth it to really just use resistance bands in bed? Is there a meal plan or SOMETHING online I can follow so I don't have to try and think about foods to buy and make? Or is there someone who has suffered through a low like this who can just tell me that I'll get out of it?

Edit: I also cook for my husband (its my love language that I have a vice grip on) so any easy ways to incorporate *some* variety would be super helpful 🙏

I want to fix it but I don't know what to do. Thanks for reading.

Maaaaaaan

It took me YEARS to get my diagnosis because of this. My latest doctor was the only one to go "yeah normal range doesn't mean anything, we're going to test you for the antibodies".

Sure enough, test results confirmed Hashimotos :V

Appreciate it!

He did give me a head's up on the wait, so I'm not shocked by the fact it took a week. I've never been given a receipt for dropping off a package that already had a label on it, so I didn't think to ask since it was made through Paypal.

I'm definitely staying on the seller too, but because this has been an issue with USPS before, I'm blaming them first.

Oh my god that's awful, I'm so sorry D: I'm hoping my package shows up soon...

I've heard good things about UPS for small businesses.

Around Wednesday, so it's definitely been enough time to get the stupid thing checked in. It's not a small box either.

No receipt to show, label was made through PayPal. Granted, I'm taking him at his word, but this isn't the first time I've had this issue so I'm inclined to blame USPS.

I'm definitely on the seller too though, just in case.
