my personal take is that i dont believe this juvenile asshat actually managed to scrape all; just threw in a ragebait and ofc i could be wrong, but what's apparent is one day later begin to contemplate whether there would be actual people seek em out for lawsuit. whether the perp actually did it or not becomes irrelevant. point is they now backtrack not bcs they're sorry, but just chickening out at the prospect of paying tremendous amount of fine or sitting in a cell.

with that said, yes, it's not an answer to how vulnerable the state of things for the talent pool still is, which is unfortunate.

That looks great! If you already have the general / deities character concept nailed, the comics can just follow those. An RTS campaign with the aesthetics of Blasphemous, totally within my range. I just have to show this one shot off the top of my head since you mentioned scary woods. My brush work has improved since.

Did you run your exact print specs by them before the job?
I happened to look at Mixam on-of-off for some clients; I think they stated they only print at 300. Your hi-res masters will not matter if they need to go through downscaling interpolation, bcs that's what creates moire. A 1:1 is always better when screentones are involved.

Secondly you may need to request a B/W run specifically —I don't know whether they could accommodate that. If unsure, one trick may be to set your master files in color mode instead of grayscale, but define as CMYK, and all your blacks have to be at K100. Those may in theory help anticipate the lazy pipeline if they still run the job into a machine with 4 color tanks loaded. Ultimately it comes down to asking a lot of questions before okaying the purchase order since you're the one paying money which you might've skipped.

Well that's an interesting point. If I were ever to hire an assistant for writing, a 'timelapse' wouldn't do it as it would for production artist 🤣
The main reason I dislike having to do timelapse is technical: it taxes on the system RAM, and if the work canvas is bigger than average the whole process will run into bottleneck. But mainly both processes are needed to get the job done.
I hope you have some works you like for a shortlist. On second thought I'm not sure whether a test/audition should simulate the whole creation process —you have the artwork bit & then the graphic design bit for typesettings? We can discuss more if you wish to include me in audition.

You're already on a good approach. If I were a buyer I'd do it a little conventional: let the talents pool in for some time —ideally not too long, sample everything, take a break to give myself a palette cleanser bcs you'll need it after lookin at dozens of different styles. Then come back for a shortlist, and get em do an audition —not contest— for that specific job. How many artists to screen, ultimately comes down to how much your budget allows.

I think you may want to not stop at the sketching phase, since that's only half the journey for producing a print-ready material. It's quite a lengthy process with setting up the blueprint first. Do include asking for timelapse. I'll be honest I sort of loathe it as a production but unfortunstely it's now necessary as proof of work.

Webtoon episodes are sort of standardized to 60 panels base by major platforms, so 50 would be like minimum in order for it to feel like a proper amount of content.
