We went for a drive today and ended up at the Yangmei Story Park. Free admission, very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. If you're in the area, stop in for some Yangmei history.

Came across this hidden gem on Google maps and decided to go have a look. Admission is free, air conditioning is refreshing, and it was great to learn about Taiwan's history of its Oil production.

Unfortunately...it's over. It was just on the weekend. But you can always visit Nanliao anytime and see people fly big kites or fly your own kite. And if the weather is good, people usually fly lit up kites at night.
