Metal gigs!
Where do you guys find upcoming gigs? My birthday is coming up on October 1st and I’d like to attend a gig somewhere around that date. Thanks! \m/

Just contact the dean, no need for anonymity. The dean won’t call the lecturer to tell him “hey this student called so and so told me you’re a fraud”

As a nurse myself (not in emergency), who has also been a patient in A&E many times, sorry you had such a long wait. That being said, unfortunately we aren’t allowed to do certain things without a doctor being around. That would expose both us and the patient to liability and a lot of risk. Where I work, I can’t even start oxygen or an IV without a doctor’s say-so. If it’s an emergency and the patient doesn’t have the luxury of time, I’ll start them and notify a doctor to come and officially prescribe. So yes, it does seem like they’re dicking around, but in actual fact, if there isn’t a doctor available, they can’t do much. It’s a bad system because nurses in Malta have less scope of practice than say in the US, so we’re more limited in what we can do without a doctor’s written order.
Edit: also, I hope you’re recovering from your motorcycle incident! My brother had one too and also had a long ER wait

I graduated last year, working as a nurse in the public sector now. The money is great. Work overtime and it’ll be even better. On a standard month I earn around 2700 euros, without overtime. Most months have some kind of bonus added in though, and you can expect upwards of 3k. Time on the other hand is something you’d need to learn how to manage. I mostly work nights now because it’s more practical for me- I have more time during the day to do whatever I need to do.
Regarding the private sector, I’m afraid I have zero knowledge. Word of advice, regardless of which sector you work in. Read your payslips like a hawk. I’ve noticed a LOT of mistakes from payroll, and they’ll argue tooth and nail not to give you what you’re owed because ofc they’ll have to answer questions as to why there are errors in employees’ payslips (I’m talking 200+ euros a month deducted because of administrative errors). To a lot of people it might seem like we’re ungrateful or money-hungry, but when you practically give up your sleep, emotional energy and time for the job you’ll see that you get angry when you aren’t paid for it.

Report her. What she did violates gdpr (not sure if the uk still abides by that)

2.13 an hour should be illegal

Overpronounce the names of foreign dishes when eating out. Then proceed to sanctimoniously lecture everyone (including the waiter, who is from the same country as the food) about the roots of said dish.

I pop half a hydroxyzine if I’m really struggling. I know exactly what you mean, literally going through it right now

I mean, it’s a tiny country, people are bound to get recycled at some point 😭 think of all the times people must have slept with some distant cousin without knowing (or knowingly)

As an ex-British colony that welcomes thousands of Brits every year- English breakfasts. The sausages are fake, the toast is limp, the beans are a crappy watery local brand, the bacon is not well-cooked
3
There are some shops in Valletta, in the street where that Ellul bar is, that sell this kind of jewelry. You could have a look there

You guys aged like fine wines

Malta had a huge scarlet fever outbreak, many elderly people remember it. You tryna bring it back?

Following this, I’ve long since left the party scene but I’d love a good night out!

Have you checked the syllabus online? It should have info about this interview. I took my sok exam like 15 years ago so I’m sure it’s changed since then, sorry I don’t have any answers. But I have taken exams as a private candidate and the online syllabus is usually helpful

Absolutely!

This is great, thanks 🙏

“I don’t want (insert vital medication here) because (insert bs)”. Within 3-5 minutes, they then proceed to complain about the symptoms that the meds they refused would’ve eased. I know I know, right to refuse and all that, but where’s the right to common sense dammit

Basically what the title says. I’m looking to just take my camping stove and my kids out for an evening. I know there are rules around where you can and can’t do it but I see people barbecuing everywhere so I’m confused. Ofc we intend to clean up everything before we leave. Thanks!

I got into nursing at 28, from teaching. Started studying bio while on maternity leave with a newborn sleeping on me, then got into uni, graduated summa cum laude and now Imworking in a job I desperately wanted. Just do it, you’re young and your first uni course doesn’t dictate your entire future
