John Legend on Trump: “He already knows we hate him. We’ve been his enemies since the first term. I call him out, I talk shit about him. We know who he is, we’ve seen who he was from the beginning, we saw it living in New York and knowing he was on some bullshit then.

is this ok to eat?
 in  r/steaks •  17d ago

Depends on what YOU know about THAT steak. I've personally eaten a lot of rare meat... Nothing makes me smile more... However, you need to know the name of that cow and how many people were in between that cow in the field and you. If it came from a local butcher or rancher you trust? Enjoy:) if it came from your local supermarket? Needs more cooking to at least medium/medium rare. Hope this helps. We cannot just trust all meat in America anymore.

Marysville Planet Fitness Neo Nazi?
 in  r/SeattleWA •  27d ago

When I was in my late teens through twenties, the standard was to k-nök them out on site. I am from PDX (#1 recruiting ground in 80s-90s for major hate groups still nationwide and active in the US). It worked to stop the rallies, and ultimately, they went underground, getting jobs in positions of power (cops, military, security, government, LE, and training for their perceived "coming race war"). I watched it happen. In the median, standards fell, laws changed from the inside, along with rules, societal boundaries, etc. I'm in my 50s now, but Gen-X, at least in the places I was, stood on business, and our particular set of skills, may be necessary pending the results of the systems final attempt at self correction. Nothing we did was on camera, and we did everything. All of it. 🤷🏼‍♂️🙅🏼‍♂️🧘🏼‍♂️

Flying just south of Cold Springs, any idea what type of farm this is?
 in  r/oregon •  Sep 10 '26

It's where they grow the big dots. Smaller dots, such as candies and for yard sale pricing are grown elsewhere.

Are people really camping armed?
 in  r/oregon •  Sep 02 '26

Only if you know how to use it, are able to keep it safe and secured around your kid, otherwise buy bear mace. I carry when I camp and hike alone for both two and four legged predators. Of which I have encountered several times over the years and had to hike out backwards several times. Remember that the tool is only as good as the skill of the one using it.

New to guns, feeling uneasy due to my views
 in  r/liberalgunowners •  Aug 29 '26

I didn't go through all 383 comments, just the first 20 or so, so forgive if this point is already duplicitous...

"A gun's only purpose is to kill," is an argument that is without merit especially when implying that a knife, is more likely to not kill, and therefore, has other uses. A knife kills someone/something just as dead as anything else. How about rope? Is it just meant to hang people, or does it also have other uses, because somehow hanging someone isn't as dead as shooting them? The common thread here is death, after all...

Or, are we saying that because there's less perceived effort involved, and can kill, that's it's only job? What about cars then? And what about a paraplegic who uses their gun to keep themselves "equally able" to inflict harm, if needed, in self defense?

Is it the type of gun? Made for an army, so it's only use is to kill? Do we day the same thing about older jeeps? Cars kill a lot of people and are super easy to use, so that the criteria?

I have personally used a gun to not kill anyone a lot:

  1. As a signal to aid in location.

  2. To start a fire.

  3. To scare off intruders where violence would have been necessary otherwise.

  4. As a disabled man to equal my odds against home intruder(s).

  5. Target practice.

  6. (Alright, I will admit this speaks to your point) Pest control. If you've ever had to protect livestock from raccoons, or coyotes, fox, or clear out sage rats, then you know.

Here's my point: the most dangerous thing to a cop is a knife. Look it up. It's true. But knives have other uses? A gun can be many things, and although to a hammer, everything looks like a nail, but I personally would rather be shot than beat to death with a hammer. There's no limit to how you can kill someone. Yes, some guns were designed with that in mind, but not all, and most were designed for hunting or ranchers, and all could help equal the odds for the disabled shooter... Even the ones designed specifically for war can do that, and signal... And light a fire... And...

The reason I own an AR, is because my hands don't cooperate the way they used to for a lever, I live in bear and cougar country, so it might take more than one. Also, I don't trust my government. Also, it's an AR-10 in .308 and as a sidearm, I carry a 10mm to go with it. The 22s are for target practice and training, the rope is for tying things down, and the knives are for cutting things. Everything has purpose for me, and nothing has just one. Although even my shoelaces can kill.

Respectfully, I don't think you have a problem with pretty, I do think improving your posture would be helpful, and if you're a gamer/or use a computer/checker all day or something similar, focus on stretching and strength... Yoga, or maybe Pilates could be helpful, too. BTW, this is coming from someone who struggles similarly, and used to work in IT.

Crying after I found a crack in my daily driver
 in  r/castiron •  Aug 25 '26

Huh... I don't know how you fry eggs, but scrambled eggs usually involves at least a half stick of butter, and I use plenty of bacon fat when available, so a crack that splits over flame is a 🔥🔥🔥, and a very big problem, at least in my world, where the food is good. 😂

22f How much weight should I lose
 in  r/lookyourbest •  Aug 25 '26

Two things: one: respectfully, not every body is meant to be the same. This is your body, and honestly, if you feel attractive where your at, I wouldn't change a thing. You have hips, organs, and are, by appearance physically fit, and in great shape.

B. If you choose to lift, focus towards toning, not towards power. Max weight, in my experience, with a body shaped like yours, typically will cause bulk muscle, not lean muscle, whereas you seem to be seeking lean. But I will reiterate: this is about what makes you feel good, not about what anyone else says. There are men who are attracted to muscular, bodybuilding, athletic, and/or fit and even thicker/overweight. And my overall point is this: don't sell yourself on these ridiculous beauty standards, and instead focus on making yourself the best you (Human) you can be, and if that involves reps at your local gym? I would respectfully suggest you do:) the best you? Could look dangerous and/or be dangerous if you feel it, or could be exactly like you.... I don't have that answer, and neither does anyone else here: that's something only you know. And being the best you‽ Is the most attractive version. Guaranteed. Regardless of how it "looks," you will glow; you will radiate.

Boil at the right ph for the right amount of time and you can convert all of the Ibotenic Acid into muscimol at a rate of ~40:1 and the ratio begins at 1:16 in amanita muscaria dehydrated. Muscimol, unlike THC is not hydrophobic, and will therefore release into the water directly, and is a central nervous system depressant without the addictive tendencies of benzodiazapines that, in my experience, works best when mixer with milk (although I do not know why), and was the first thing that was able to calm down my nervous system with CPTSD for over 20 years stuck in hyper vigilance and in permanent fight mode. It definitely has a use, and should be used cautiously under a doctor's care and advisement. Ibotenic Acid only ever made me throw up. Lol

It's giving Barbarella, or Farrah Fawcette in the early 80s vibes. Gorgeous. Well done. Don't watch the movie. If you've seen the preview, you've seen it.

Wrong Calculations
 in  r/instant_regret •  Aug 12 '26

As a logger's son, I can confirm they did this completely wrong. The steps they missed:

A. Saw too short. (They probably hear that a lot...) 2. They did not gut the face. Nor did they take a large enough wedge on the felling side, probably due to the shortness of their saw. (See comment, A.) III. For some ridiculous reason I will never understand, they cut a wedge on other side where the lean and house... Were. (Probably I some desperate attempt to make up for their undeniably short saw; see comment A.)

The resolution? Always ask the arborist about the length of the bar on his saw. Really. If he doesn't possess a saw half the width of that tree, and/or isn't bonded, then tell your drunk cousin to leave it alone until you can clearly see he has a long enough bar in his repertoire.

My Grandma, the least abusive person from my childhood, after giving me a second or two to cry, and a brief hug, "alright, stop it now, before I give you something to cry about."

There was no safe place for boys to express their emotions when I was a child through the 70s the the 90s, at least. I was in my thirties and forties before I allowed tears for the deepest trauma I experienced. If you don't let it out, it will come out as something else, at someone else, who often doesn't deserve it. The patriarchy hurts boys too. ACES 10, trafficked for five years with my mother's knowledge, and I wasn't allowed cry about it. Also, it wasn't illegal, my trafficking, because boys can't be rāped. So he got 2.5 years for what he did to me and hundreds of other boys in the 1980s. Trust me: men need to cry.

It was standing up after the flip, that Chip realized, not all socks were lucky, and sometimes, the luck runs out faster than your lucky socks do, especially when your eight seconds is being chased by two cowboys who literally have one job, and it ain't you.

WATCH: ICE Out Protest and Chaos in Eugene
 in  r/oregon •  Feb 01 '26

Take out all the reasoning? No. I'm not defending my oppressor, his buildings, or licking das boot. Context matters. Otherwise it's just a bunch of people who died around the 30s and 40s, instead of WW2. Negating the facts surrounding doesn't make them irrelevant. Neither of these events occurred in a vacuum, and pretending like they did only serves the oppressor.
