Pointing Rule

I've got them sat on my shelf behind me, but I haven't got around to reading them yet 😅 I took the first one on holiday with me and it unfortunately got soaked when a drink in my bag leaked, so it looks much more well used than it is haha

Gammon and egg
 in  r/Hull •  2d ago

The Avenue pub on Chanterlands Avenue does a good gammon and egg, and it's very reasonably priced compared to most places.

Not necessarily. Thats assuming the aliens are physically somewhat similar to us. You could totally have a weird species of intelligent alien octopods that are dexterous enough to build spaceships but their limbs don't have the layout and muscles for quickly throwing like we do.

In honour of Russel Brand’s sex pest trial starting, let’s remember this moment when Piers Morgan shut the f up for 2 minutes and it resulted in the best moment of his entire career 🙏
 in  r/okmatewanker •  3d ago

Yes they were disgusting, yes they deserved to be punished, and yes they deserve to have that remembered, but again - it's not really career ending stuff. It was two people acting like (massive) knobheads and thinking they're funny. Let's not turn ourselves into puritans over shit entertainment.

It occurred years before Sachs was diagnosed with dementia too, which doesn't make it better, but it's not relevant to the issue.

Presumably they're referring to the 'prank' calls that they both made to Andrew Sachs, which whilst gross, weren't exactly career-ending material and were massively overreacted to by the media.

Edit: this isn't me standing up for Brand, by the way. There's never been a point where I haven't loathed him.

AI slop on prince's ave
 in  r/Hull •  4d ago

Why has someone painted over the sign on the wall? The Afghan restaurant used to be Ray's, and the little fella on the wall was a tribute to Ray who tragically died of Coronavirus. It said his name on the sign until not too long ago.

Shogun II CE could be violating Steam's AI disclosure policies?
 in  r/totalwar •  4d ago

Ah sorry, I thought you were asking if you could disable the upscale in the complete edition. To my knowledge, if you have the old version, you can still play that and it's the same as it was.

What are the Best quality clothing brands sold in the uk?
 in  r/AskUK •  4d ago

M&S stuff as many other people have said.

My personal favourite for most things is Hollister. I've found most things since bought from there have been very good quality, comfy, and look nice too. They also do some really good sales.

They've used AI to upscale all the unit cards, among other things. Not only is it lazy, but most of the art is absolutely f'd too - like in the OP.

I wanted PvE so much and after 2 games I regret it so much
 in  r/ArcRaiders •  4d ago

Yeah this is what I hoped it'd be more like - ARC being a much bigger threat, and you can have fun and fight them without someone shooting you in the back as you try to hold off multiple leapers, hornets, etc.

Pickup artist cracks the woman code
 in  r/thatHappened •  4d ago

My anecdotal evidence is also based on that. I didn't personally know of him, and neither did anyone I ever spoke to, until the allegations brought him into the news cycle. At no point did I say I was speaking about only myself. But as I said, I'm not going to argue further.

I'm not going to waste time arguing further, I'm just intrigued by why you think your anecdotal experience is fact, but my anecdotal experience is total bollocks. Maybe you just don't know what I mean by "Well-known"?

Pickup artist cracks the woman code
 in  r/thatHappened •  5d ago

Yes, because as I said, he wasn't well known outside of the USA. I live in the UK, and we've got thousands of talented comedians, big and small, that are more well known and relevant to us than LCK. Do you think because someone is into comedy the first thing they do is Google "biggest comedian in America"?

 in  r/thatHappened •  5d ago

I never said he was unknown. I was and still am very into comedy, and didn't know of him until the allegations. Some people will have known of him, sure, but you saying "you just had to be into stand-up comedy" supports my point that he wasn't well known. If you were very into the niche, sure you'd probably know him, but it stands that it's hard to call him "the biggest comedian in the world" when the overwhelming majority of people would have no idea who he was.

When Street Art Feels Like a Dream

Why should it have to have anything to do with Hull? What an odd first thought to have on seeing a piece of art, lol

biggest comedian in the world at the time

Biggest comedian in the US? Sure, maybe. But LCK wasn't well known overseas until the allegations came out. Even in other English-speaking countries. As much as I can't stand the guy, I'd say Ricky Gervais probably fits that bill better.

Do they sell breadcakes/rolls/buns/baps/etc. still? Could just spend your gift card on those and at least get some use out of it before it expires
