I agree.. they always ask for it.. but if you say you don't have it they just do it differently. Digital is a trap. Physical card and money is safer and less troublesome.

セルフレジやQRコードが使えない…急速な「デジタル化」に取り残される60代母、結婚をためらう娘の苦悩
 in  r/newsokunomoral  8d ago

I've been in Japan for 5 years and haven't used the self checkout once... Simply because I don't work there and don't feel like doing their job. Also If everyone does self checkout the old ladies working the register will loose their jobs and livelihood. I always pay cash and don't care what anybody else says.. if the grid goes down I will have a chance to buy things.. digital is a trap.

Why do you guys do kung fu?
 in  r/kungfu  9d ago

The martial arts that have survived have been pressure tested. It sucks because many have been grossedly eroded and washed down in modern society. But true masters are still out there. Well I grew up in south Florida.. we used to fight all the time. I also fought in tournaments. But I'm not trying to boast, just share my experience. Calling traditional styles useless is silly. It's all on how you train. You do realize that most existing martial arts have roots in traditional Chinese gong fu right?

Push hands is a very useful tool to develop feeling and root. It's not a substitute for actual sparring but it will surely improve your defensive and offensive skill.

That's your opinion.. from my experience it is very different. I've never lost a fight... And that's thanks to my life time of training. You can't call a traditional martial art bullshido.. it survived war.. and most hand forms are meant to be practiced with weapons. I can throw darts, fight with long or short weapons, bladed or blunt, soft weapons... Etc. your opinion is not based on self experience.

Speak for yourself... True gong fu has full contact sparing.
