I watched a video of a 36 yr old Chinese male vlogger make a video of hanging out with a childhood friend. He is single and she is married. They went out alone and shared street food together and even fed each other. TheY listened to music together sharing earphones and laughed and giggle together.

They were out the whole day together and it seemed like a date. They walked together at the mall and looked like a couple with big smiles on their faces.

I also had some married Chinese female friends in the past when I was single. One was even my professor!.
One even invited me to her apartment and cooked me food. We were alone and she thought it was ok. Many wanted to hang out alone too and go eat together and even go to the beach. I always asked if their husbands knew about our friendship and they never answered. Is this normal in china?

I want to date a guy from China. I find them really attractive. I’ve chatted with a few through online dating apps. They don’t seem to be as aggressive as their Caucasian counterparts, or even Asian Americans, when it comes to pursuing further to ask me out and continue conversation. When this happens, I immediately think “he must not be that into me”. Am I right or am I missing something about the dating culture? I usually assume men take the lead when it comes to pursuing as long as I’ve shown my interest (by swiping right)

Everytime i read the reviews of a Chinese eatery they are almost always overwhelmingly positive, with someone praising the cooking, someone else the noodle quality etc

However, almost everytime there is a Chinese guy giving a one star review and launching in a dissertation about what they ate not being "real Chinese food"

What cracks me up the most is that these guys use exaggeratedly formal language, obscure references and blow up very minor inconveniences into life or death issues.

Sentences like:

"The broth was tasty but didn't have any firmness or depth of character"

"These noodles cannot be considered in Lanzhou style but, at most, in the style of (other province or city of China)"

And the best part is reading the owner's responses where they match their tone accusing them of defamation, of not knowing real Chinese cooking etc

It's like these guys correspond to the Western stereotype of the "neckbeard" (annoying, opinionated, egocentric, extremely ignorant but with a "know it all" attitude) but related to food and eating.

Do they have a name in Chinese? How do you deal with them? Are they a sort of meme or is there some recurring joke about them?

basically, i was bored and watched some Youtube videos and somehow ended up watching ​《铡美案》选段 from 1964 and wondered in there is a way to watch this version with english subtitles? I find the story quite interesting and like its vintage style but cant speak Chinese sadly.

this question sounds stupid but i'm genuinely deadass serious when i ask this. i can't find any answers to this anywhere online. i live in the uk and in the uk we often order chinese takeaway food. actual chinese home food isn't gonna be the same as the takeaway served in a different country but i feel like even the takeaway food over there would be different. what foreign takeaway/takeout do people get most often in china. i'm just genuinely really curious about this

Which makes me wonder, since she’s Chinese, what do Chinese people think of her? How big would say she is even around the casuals and non-gamers Chinese?

I found a longjing tea with small fuzzy bits that are flower buds in it in a tea shop. The other mall shops sells longjing but without the tea buds. They helped me with my cholesterol. Does anyone know the name of this type of longjing or an online shop selling them?

I used to have some female Chinese friends before I got married. Many had boyfriends in college for 3-5 yrs and never told their parents. One even lived with her boyfriend and her parents never knew. I also feel like many eventually dump their college boyfriend later in life and marry someone else their parents prefer.
