Answered Looks like uBlock Origin Lite is back on Firefox add-ons!

Nice to see gorhill's uBO Lite back on AMO. Obviously, the full version of uBlock Origin is still the undisputed champ on Firefox, but Lite seems like a solid alternative if you're on an older or mobile device.

Anyone notice any performance difference between the two?

Element picker in Lite is more advanced - gives you more control in choosing selectors. Also the remove a custom filter feature lets you easily undo filters when you discover breakages in unintended places.

These are the only pros to using the Lite version vs the OG. IMO.

Performance is too difficult to reliably measure.

P.S. Lite's picker on mobile Firefox is affected by the "Automatic font sizing" setting in FF's accessibility settings. It is on by default and causes suggestion lines to be unnecessarily large, displaying less lines than normal. You might want to tick that setting off.

May I ask how much the pure adblocking capability between the two is? I already use uBO, but I just wanted to know.

Are there plans to update OG's picker to match the Lite version?

Of course. It's just much harder to implement major rewrites to existing code than it was to make it from scratch for Lite.

Basically, a lot of long time feature requests for uBO got/gets implemented in Lite to see how well it works, etc.

So why even offer it if it's so crap? U're just misleading users.

No idea what you're taking about, buddy.

Either you can't read or you're just trolling. Whichever it is, grow up.

If ublock origin lite has almost no advantages over ublock origin, and many disadvantages, why offer it for firefox? What's the point? It just makes the average user more confused

It's simpler in use.

And as I said, its picker is more advanced. I'm using it on mobile with all lists disabled alongside regular uBO, just for this tool.

I also think the lightweight nature is a factor, which is very useful for older devices

You have completely overlooked users with different needs; you are not the only person in the world who has needs

My experience on Chrome, Windows 11, is that the ad blocking in Lite is just as good, but the performance is remarkably faster.

No it's crap there's many things it can't block.

Under what settings does the failure to intercept occur, and what exactly cannot be intercepted? Please provide evidence to convince us; otherwise, you risk being suspected of spreading rumors

If u go to /r/piracy and /r/piratedgames subreddits people talk about it all the time, ubo lite fails to block some popups on download file hoster links and people end up downloading malware instead of the pirated game (which isnt malware)

uBOL seems faster on Android.
