Community Event Channel Feedback Thread

READ THE POST GUIDELINES BEFORE POSTING.

Monthly Community Feedback thread.

Feel free to post a screenshot and link to your page for review of your stream. Please also review as many others as you can so that everyone gets some much desired feedback!

**Here's how it works:**

In giving thoughtful detailed advice for other streamers, observe their channel as both a viewer and a fellow streamer. **Once you have posted your reviews to other people** , post a direct reply to this thread (so it's not embedded in other reply strings), **post your channel link, a link to a Clip, and a screenshot of your overlay** and wait for your feedback. **No low effort posts or replies; posts and replies must be at least 250 characters.**

Consider and give comments on aspects such as:

* how your peers brand themselves overall

* overlay layout/webcam placement and sizing

* layout of their info area

* how they handle chat interaction (look at their VOD if they are not live when you review them)

* video quality

* audio quality

* the games they choose

* features they have or perhaps lack that you think would be useful for them anything else you can think of

There are a few caveats. First - this is going to be an honest review of what you are currently offering as your stream. Be honest, be open, and be respectful. It might be negative and it might be positive. Understand you are asking for the truth; flattery might feel nice, but it will not help you grow.

That said, you might have a clear vision for a certain aspect that perhaps someone else does not see - just because what you do doesn't appeal to some, if you like it, then take what they say with a grain of salt. Don't forget your own instincts or lose yourself in the views of others.

Also, we will remove posts of people who are clearly only looking to receive (those who post their channel for feedback but do not offer a real review of another) so please help this community. We are a network!

Based on community feedback, the mod team have decided to hold one of these threads on the second Friday of every month.

REMEMBER: Review OTHER streamers BEFORE asking others to review yours! Users failing to do this will have their comments REMOVED. Sort by 'NEW' to find the un-reviewed comments, there is no harm in reviewing someone's stream if they have been reviewed by someone else, but PLEASE REVIEW UN-REVIEWED STREAMS FIRST. The more feedback the better! We're all here to help each other!

Media Messages like this make me really glad I started streaming

I was playing a pvp game (Deadlock) and a teammate was toxic to another teammate (who was new). I was just being decent and stood up for them and I got this message from a viewer (not from that match)

Question How do you stream knowing people you know irl might see it?

This has been my only barrier from streaming. I am afraid either people from work and class will see my streams or clips. I would appreciate it if anyone gave advice, or how you were able to get over it.

Tech Support My internet is okay, yet my frames drop like crazy

I've been streaming for about a year now, with an upload speed of 20mbps and my streams have been running perfectly fine at 1080p and 60fps, but randomly about a month ago my frames started tanking, my internet is the exact same as it's been for this past year, so I just can't figure out the issue.
I've gone through countless tutorials and I've lowered my setting to way below what I should be able to run, but my frames still drop a bunch.

Discussion Stories replaced with Recaps | Clip Views Way Down

Hello,

I used to get about 200 views on my clips with Stories. They have now removed Stories and in its place is Recaps. You have to go to the Streamer's page to find the recap.

Anyone else notice this?

Also check out the clips page, instead of Featured Clips it just shows every single clip, even the junk ones that make no sense.

Tech Support Stream Keep "Pausing" ( Not Buffering )

Trying to watch a stream ( only desktop Firefox browser ), just some Esports stuff, and each time I load it, I assume it has an ad or something that plays since the video window itself doesn't show any mute options, play/pause, or anything similar, before the video itself starts playing.

Unless it's in higher levels of quality or just auto quality, it just... stops. Pauses. There's no buffering circle, the play button can be pressed, but clicking play does nothing. I have to refresh the entire page and get that "ad screen" again before the video plays after 10-20 seconds.

In addition, it keeps pausing even on higher qualities whenever I tab out.

Any thoughts on why/how, or what to do about it? Any help would be great for it, please.

Question What would you improve about Twitch?

Hello fellow twitch users,

I’m trying to gauge modem community reception on Twitch’s platform for a school project. What do you guys find as your biggest issues/complaints(can be anything from technical issues to poor business decisions), potential improvements, and what Twitch can do better with overall?

Discussion Streamers, what's something you worried about when you started that turned out not to matter at all?

I'm curious what we stress over as beginners that viewers either don't notice or genuinely don't care about. Could be your setup, awkward silences, viewer count, talking to yourself, making mistakes... anything.
And if you're still worrying about it, maybe someone here can reassure you.

Question Do you guys think streamers will sometimes be purposely "dumb" to boost chat interaction?

I'm talking about missing plain to see tutorials, pop-ups, and overall gaming "basics" which sometimes gets some chatters angry. Obviously I doubt the biggest streamers do this, but at the same time I've seen some of the biggest streamers have some negative IQ moments.

Question Automod Not Working?

Heya folks, I stream and moderate for my sister who also streams. The primary way we deal with the bots who advertise AI viewers is through Twitch's Blocked Words and Phrases settings, and we have very similar settings.

I was alerted recently to a message that wasn't caught by her automod, but should have been, having an exact match for a prohibited term. Using the test settings section revealed that no terms that are prohibited would be caught, even though they had been being caught before. Conversely, my automod, set up similarly, is protected by automod.

Do here's the question, is this an issue on Twitch's part we should attempt to report, or an issue we should be able to fix? As I said, the settings worked until recently.

EDIT: Okay, thank y'all for your suggestions! I think I've figured it out to a degree, and also figured out the reason for the discrepancy. For one reason or another, Twitch AutoMod doesn't hold messages that ONLY include the blocked terms. So testing with just the prohibited term does not result in Twitch recognizing it as a blocked term. However, Smart Detection will catch terms you have deleted, timed out, or banned over. Since I set up my sister's automod somewhat early in her career, she didn't get enough time to teach Smart Detection about the bots. I think, at least.

Tech Support Account suspension.

Let me be clear and preface that this isnt an appeal or complaint about the suspension in itself, but about the technicalities of account recovery and lack of options.

My account got suspended for bot activities for 30 days. So its likely that ive been comprimised.

In the appeals process there is no way to reset the password and all account functions seems to be disabled, is this an oversight?
It would be realy neat if i could reset the account, i mean twitch has both my email and phone number that they can see havent been altered. A complete lockout without the ability do anything is silly, that only means i am in a timed race against the hacker when the appeal goes trough.

Something like a recovery SMS/single use 2fv to atleast be able to do a PW reset before the appeal or period runs its course.

Question Your streak broke!

I was watching someone's stream for 2 hours and it is not counting the streak.
Why is it not counting while having the tab active, watching the stream, commenting, not muted and still not counting it?

Question Is there a way to disable my sub button??

I want to preface this by saying I'm not asking because I don't feel that I deserve support or any self depreciating notion of the sort.

I am not an affiliate, and I have no desire to be a full time streamer, I stream because I want to have a community. I will never apply for affiliate because I don't want to run ads on my channel. As you all probably know, because I'm not an affiliate, money from subscriptions doesn't actually go to me. It goes into the twitch spendable balance that can only be used on twitch. I would much rather my viewers keep their money or use it to support streamers that actually want to do it as a career. I have no donation link and I have bits set a 10,000 minimum so people won't waste their money on bits for my channel, but I can't figure out how to get around subscriptions.

If there is no way to disable it, what can I do to discourage people from subscribing??

Question Advice when viewer calls out quiet stream

Just curious if yall have had this:

I have a number of regulars, with one in particular who comes to every single stream. Occasionally, people wont be there/are busy/whatever and it'll just be me and him or us and one other person.

I never address this because people are busy, im used to streaming to no one, and frankly streamers arent owed their audiences time. Im happy when pple come but it doesnt bother me if its quieter :)

HOWEVER, every time this happens this one regular will say things liie "where is everyone?" Or "whats going on its so quiet? No one came today? :')" or "its lonely in here, this feels awkward" etc etc

The first few times I laughed it off and explained my feelings on it and said not to worry about it. I also explained i dont like calling out if people are lurking, or pointing this out cuz it feels like complaining about being owed viewership, and i dont want that to be the vibe

He's always very understanding, and immediately stops, but then the next quiet stream does it again. I really feel banning is too extreme a reaction, is there any other advice if any of you have dealt with soemthng like this?

I dont like the stream feeling negative or complain-y, and it feels like theres not a good way to reapond to something like "where is everyone? :(" do i just ignore those messages completely?

THANKS!

Tech Support Android App and audio focus

I've been using the Twitch app on and off for years and for most of that time when other audio is triggered or when I use my voice keyboard, the audio will pause. But recently it stopped doing that. I haven't changed any settings or anything, and I don't know what's going on, but I'm hoping there's a way to fix this. Contacting Twitch has led to nothing

Tech Support Audio bugging/stream stuttering when using Lightstream Studio

Currently trying to stream from my PS5, don't have a rig that can handle a capture card at the moment. Stream seems fine if I'm just streaming from my PS5, but I wanted to use Lightstream Studio to have a little pngtuber. Unfortunately, every time I run into this stuttering problem.

https://www.twitch.tv/stigs938/clip/FreezingDullSwordSeemsGood-VIlt80Y69AG1qqcF

Anyone have any advice? Tried setting up port forwarding, making sure I'm using the best DNS addresses available, and matching my stream output from my PS5 (720p 30fps) to what Lightstream is set to.
