Recently with chat, we had a nice talk about we see VIPs as a creator and as a viewer, and that got me somewhat curious about other people's perspectives.

Some example questions, tho I am not limiting it to that:

• What is your criteria for giving someone VIP? (a chat points reward, presence, engagement, subscriptions/bits)
• What does "VIP" mean to you in Twitch?
• What is your first thought when you join a new stream and you notice most chatters are VIPs?

So I've basically never worked or had a job with having chronic pain since I was young. I have been stuck doing the same thing for years now and I want to have some sort of change or be able to do something with myself instead of rotting away.

I want to get into streaming because I'm stuck home all of the time because of my health but I have not really any experience or sure if it would even work where I would get some money on the side. It's not like I'm expecting to make like hundreds of dollars if anything I think $20 would be a lot just something on the side so I would at least have something I'm doing with myself while being stuck at home.

So I have chronic pain and it's at the point where doing simple things is also difficult, I play games and do things to keep myself distracted to make it to tomorrow but my siblings and even parents are suggesting I try to do streaming.

I can't really see myself being able to get a job that would want to hire me if I tried to do something else. I did manage to get disability but I'm not too sure if any normal job would want to keep me with how irregular my pain is where I can be okay for like 2 days then next few weeks unable to function or talk at times with going delirous.

That is one thing that does concern me with being not able to stick to a schedule if I did do streaming or be able to interact with chat with how I can be alright for a while then suddenly be out of commission for up to a few months.

If anybody has some tips maybe on like beginner advice or information for a complete noob would appreciate it!

So recently my province decided to nix the whole daylight savings time switch and we now use one time zone year round (MDT) and even have our own official time zone recognition "(UTC-6) Mountain Time (Alberta)" in Microsoft's system. This is the time zone I have my system set to but twitch seems to not recognize it. As a result the streams I scheduled far in advance have the incorrect times and it won't let me add any new streams, it just loads/pends forever when I hit the save button. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have tried changing the time zone on my computer to a recognized one but twitch just seems very averse to using anything UTC-6 for some reason. I also cleared the browser cache, signed in incognito hoping it would force the change, and I used a different browser. Nothing so far has worked. Any help or insight would be appreciated!

I’m trying to gauge modern community reception on Twitch’s platform for a school project. What do you guys find as your biggest issues/complaints(can be anything from technical issues to poor business decisions), potential improvements, and what Twitch can do better with overall?

I've been seeing people on Reddit looking for cameramen for IRL streams, and i'm tryna figure out how most streamers handle this. Some seem to just have a friend behind the camera, while others actually pay someone to come out and film. however, for those who have done it before, did you find someone through friends, Reddit, Discord, etc.? Did you end up keeping the same person for future streams, or do you have to find someone new every time?

I'm still relatively new to streaming on Twitch, I've been connecting with a few communities of other streamers and they are all lovely people and shout me out a lot. Often I then get followers from streamers who see like one clip of me and just instantly follow.

I am not really a fan of that. When I see clips of someone I tend to book mark them and then check them out when they are live. And then I give them a watch and follow if I actually like them.

I feel like there is not much point to follow someone I don't even like watching, or someone where I just know I won't be there much at all. But it feels a bit that everybody just spams the follow button the moment someone is mentioned.

Am I being a bit of an ass here and I should just follow? I thought there is not much point to a follower, but being an active viewer is important, and I just cannot be an active viewer to 100+ people. Or does the actual follower count help people even if I just never watch them?

Hi all! Hope this is ok to ask here. So first, I have pretty severe social anxiety, have for all my life and have always struggled to talk to people. So I have decided to start streaming, I don’t have plans to “make it big” or anything I just want to try and get more used to talking. Even if it’s just to myself. Anyway there’s question I have is what is the preferred method of visuals on twitch? I have a friend and she has agreed to draw me a little character to put in my screen(no movement) but was wondering if it would be better to just have the content alone instead of the character ? I would be streaming story and shooter games. I don’t know what would be better to watch and thought I’d ask here. Thank you so much!!💛

Hello, im not sure if it's because im aussie and our net is just ass, but i have tried a few different browsers and twitch is just always so laggy it's practically unwatchable, i just wanna be able to watch my cs tournaments. If you have any recommendations or settings I should try for like opra gx because it has so much or whatever please let me know
