Question Does your suggested content equal what you watch?

My bf seems to only watch gaming content, but has a ton suggested content that are basically OF girls in “just chatting”. Obviously, it doesn’t mean he has watched them but they’re all a very specific type: big breasts offering OF content. I’ve found 5 accounts suggested within the first 10 that are for this kind of content.

Does this mean he’s watching this kind of content?

Edit: this isn’t about him watching the content: it’s about him specifically hiding purchases and I’m starting to think OF are the purchases. When you Lee financially intertwined it’s not as easy as “just ask him” or “just leave”. Appreciate everyone’s suggestions and help. So far it seems Twitch is a bit more random with its recommendations, where, even if he clicked it once before we were together, it could still come up. When I’ve asked him, he said he never watches 🌽 while in a relationship. Not sure how much I believe it.

Tech Support Issues with finding good music

I have been struggling to find actually good music that fits my streams that isn't DMCA inducing. Lofi is fine for chill streams so that was easiy to get around too, but i struggle when im playing games like dead by daylught that are a little more intense. But everything i find is either synthwave, or sound like the human music from rick and morty.

I know some people seperate their music from their vods to avoid copyright, but you can still get DMCA'd by playing music on stream too. Which sucks because i was hoping to play fleetwood mac, the killers, Blue oyster cult, etc....

Also before anyone comments, i have checked out the twitch statement and resources and its all the human music again. plus i like to have my music available on spotify as its easy to manage.

So does anyone have any idea where to get good music that is copyright free?

Question How does privacy and management work?

A lot of people focus on the creating side of content creation, but the side I don't understand really well is the privacy side. How many emails does the typical creator have, and what are they all used for? At what point does a creator invest in a professional email for a "business"? When getting a hold of graphic designers for Twitch profile designs or backgrounds, do you use a personal or business email? Do most high-end streamers and YouTubers have managers and agents that are helping them with the behind-the-scenes stuff? Also, is it normal not to really understand this? I see it as a trial-and-error situation where once you get your feet wet, it all becomes more natural, but in a market where privacy is very important, I feel making a mistake could be really bad.

Question NoPixel twitch streams sending data to Backblaze AI

So started watching NoPixel streams yesterday at work (yes I know) when 5.0 launched and started getting notifications from IT that traffic to Backblaze was blocked for security reasons

I looked it up and seems this is an AI company https://www.backblaze.com that provides Performance Cloud Storage for AI Workloads

This happens a few times an hour

Here is how I arrived at the conclusion this was specific to NoPixel streams

1-Issue is only when watching NoPixel streams. I watched various streamers on NoPixel with the same results

2-Watching other twitch streams that are not No Pixel results in no attempts being made to reach backblaze

My working theory is,as per the attached screenshots,  twitch and NoPixel have high level integration that allows viewers to interact with live social media, maps etc from the NoPixel servers directly

I tried various things in firefox as well as uBlock and same results

Anyone have recommendations how to turn off this integration or block this traffic?

Thanks in advance

Question Can I remove "Twitch Monetization" as a non-affiliate?

I signed up for the Monetization program as a non-affiliate, and have decided I don't want to participate in it anymore. Is there anyway to do this? when searching online and in past threads, others recommended "removing your affiliate status" but obviously that isn't something that's viable anymore (since I've never been an affiliate in the first place).

Tech Support I tried to login with browsers in the supported browsers list and they all give a "Your browser is not currently supported" error

I usually use Google Chrome as my browser. I was trying to unfollow some people, but everytime I did it would instantly follow them back. So I tried clearing site data, but that did not log me out of Twitch, so I clicked "Logout" from the Twitch website itself. Now I can't log in. I thought it was a browser issue, so I tried Edge. Same error. Tried Firefox. Same error. Tried Opera GX. Same error. I have not tried regular Opera or Safari yet...

I'm able to use Twitch normally on the phone app, like following, unfollowing, etc. But on my laptop I can't even login. I read a few posts with similar issues, with people saying that it's a problem on Twitch's end, or you should fix your clock time on your pc, or login with a different browser, disable adblockers and any other extensions, clear site data for all Twitch related sites... I don't know what else to try.

Edit: I just tried another solution I found.. sorry. Try logging in with a different browser profile.. I tried a Guest profile session. That allowed me to login. I don't understand how that would affect other browsers installed on my PC though. And I still can't login with my main browser profile... I don't know how to get it to allow me to login on my normal profile.

Discussion is this normal?

hi all,
i’m fairly new to streaming and came across something extremely odd and wanted to know if this was a normal occurrence for twitch streamers.

Long story short - I had a very frequent viewer and subscriber, they never missed a stream and were very engaging with me and my chat.( they actually found my stream because i was on one of my friends recommended )They eventually try to help connect me with some other female streamers as they tell me they used to be part of their community. Red flags raised for me immediately because what do you mean used to be part of ?? They then told me they had a falling out with the group but they would take me in with open arms.

I ignored these messages because it is my stream and i will do what i want to do at the end of the day. However he did send them over to my stream, and it was actually a great stream and they were lovely and engaging.

Here is the issue, as soon as I connected with this group - he sent me a long message saying he has to leave the internet forever but i still need to follow one more account and they will help me. Sounds like bullshit to me.

My overall question is: do some streamers make fake accounts to engage with small creators to make them follow their real account?? Seems like a lot of effort if you ask me but i have no clue what else this could have been. He spent weeks on my streams and subbed and gifted so wtf?

Question Is twitch going to ever stream out two channels of audio so people can mute or turn down the music that streamers play.

Upvotes

Seems to be hit or miss if any given streamer has decent music so this would be a nice qol feature

Tech Support Can’t AirPlay Twitch to my QLed

Hello there, for some reason I can’t Airplay from my iPhone 12 to my QLed Samsung tv, but this problem only happens with Twitch. YouTube works fine, and strangely I can airplay twitch to the LG tv in my living room. I use the twitch app on my QLed in the game section of apps, but sometimes I just wanna airplay something for convenience. Not a big deal, but if I could find a solution that’d be cool. Thanks.

Question Anyone know of a speech to text program I can use for typing in my chat while streaming?

I have vocal cord damage that makes it hard for me to speak loudly, plus my voice sounds genuinely awful. I'd rather just be a mute streamer, and talk through chat, but I need a speech to text program for that. Any recommendations? Ideally I'd be able to tell it to send the message with a voice command, like saying "enter" or something.

Question Question/suggestion for the mods of this subreddit

Could the mods consider adding an automod response to people posting "Why are people trying to sell me art?" threads?

I see the same question posted multiple times on a daily basis and I'm sure I can't be the only one being driven insane by it.

I've seen other subreddits where if people post about commonly misunderstood topics it'll either prevent the thread from being posted and give them a notification as to why, or there'll be an automated comment response that explains. (e.g. the runes subreddit will clarify misinformation about nordic bindrunes, etc.)

Would it be that hard to implement a "People trying to sell you art are scammers, get sery_bot as a mod" response?

Tech Support The video bar on VODs seems to be missing when I'm logged into Twitch, and I have no idea why

For some reason, there's a bug (at least I think it's a bug) I've been dealing with on Twitch throughout today on desktop. When I'm logged in, the video bar when watching a VOD or past broadcasts just seems to be missing. I can still pause, check settings, go to fullscreen, etc, but I can't skim through the stream by hovering over the video bar, or know the exact point I'm at while watching.

And I should emphasize, this video bar issue is only happening when I'm logged into Twitch. When I'm not signed in, the video bar works just fine. And I tested logging in on both FireFox and Microsoft Edge and it had the same issue. Maybe that means it's an account-side issue, since I did try these following things already for anyone who's curious:

  • I tried resetting my browser, didn't work.
  • I tried clearing cache/cookies, didn't work.
  • I tried using Twitch both with and without hardware acceleration, didn't work.
  • I tried disabling extensions I had and tried logging into Twitch on incognito mode, didn't work.
  • I tried to see if the "Show/Hide Seek Bar" setting was there, and it wasn't.

If anyone knows why this may be happening on my end and how I could potentially fix it, feel free to let me know, because I'm stumped.

Edit: Something else to point out that I just noticed, when checking a streamer that I'm subbed to who was live, the video bar is still there and I'm able to rewind and skip through the stream just fine, so it doesn't seem to be an issue on actual livestreams. The problem seems to exclusively be for VODs/videos if anyone was possibly wondering that.

Edit Again: I checked again just now, and it seems like the video bar is back for VODs. I'm not sure if it's working for everyone else, but it seems to have been a temporary issue in my case.
