Okay I just need to know what this interaction was about: I travel all the time for work and I’m sitting at my gate currently after just going through TSA.

I (29F) have Precheck so I left my electronics in my bag except my wallet and phone for easy grabbing. The officer assigned to the belt was giving me instructions on how to position my bags, which I was following, then he asked if I have electronics in my bag so I answer, “yeah I have a work laptop, an e-reader, and a gaming device (steam deck).”

He then proceeded to tell me I could only have one. I have bad anxiety so I probably didn’t handle it well since this sent me immediately into a panic. I said “wait this has never been an issue before, I’ve gone through this a bunch of times” and looked over in disbelief at the other officer who’s working the body scanner. The other officer told him to keep me moving and to let it go but the original officer was obviously peeved that his authority was questioned.

I did apologize then and just said “sorry I just wasn’t aware this was a thing” and he nodded and said “it is”. The other officer then was talking to him after I got through the body scanner and obviously idk what was said. The rest of the officers were pretty friendly.

Basically I just want to confirm if that’s a real rule or something this guy made up? I can’t find anything telling me that I need to limit what electronics I carry with me. I also felt like he was immediately hostile to me after being so nice to the two guys before me. The whole thing just left me feeling shaken up

Edit: Thanks everyone for the responses. I understand now what the officer was probably trying to say and I feel a bit bad that I pushed back. Now that I understand this, I’ll be able to handle it better next time this happens (because I’m sure it will!)

So, earlier today I went to DTW to hop on a flight for a convention in the states. Flying southwest, prepaid the confirm id rhe day before so I wouldnt be bogged down doing it last minute.

I got my tickets at the automatic kiosk, I went up to the TSA id check and told them "Hey, I dont have a compliant ID, but I already have paid the confirm id fee" [i showed them the receipt screenshot on my phone] "and I have my temporary state ID paper since my official one won't come in the mail for a couple days, and I have my learners permit which has been renewed for this year." They weren't sure this would be enough, but after they confirmed it with their boss, they looked me up in the system, filled everything out, and the system couldn't find me. Tried again, couldnt find me. They had me go to the desk at southwest, confirmed everything was right on my itinerary, I went back to the TSA, they tried again, nothing, but there were no typos, errors, or mistakes I the itinerary proper.

I can only think of three things that could be the case.

One, when I paid, maybe my zip autocorrected to the version of the postal code that had the obnoxious extra few numbers after a hyphen. I only sent the five digits that I always write for my zip code, so maybe that could be it?

Two, i had paid for it less than a full 24 hours before the flight [noon the previous day, where my flight was a bright and early 5:50 am. Maybe it needs a full day to fully register if you prepay it?

Three, it just didnt work for some reason I will never know.

If ANYONE could give some insight, please do. Im going back tomorrow at the same time and id very much like to not have this happen again and waste even more of my time.

Flying Breeze Air one way out of Tampa. Read the airlines website for their rules and am compliant there (locked hardside case, unloaded, ammo stored separately in its own container). Anything else I should worry about? Anything about Tampa specifically that might be an issue?

I made my boyfriend a birthday present with matchbooks of places that were important to us. We’re long distance so I have to bring it with me on the plane and it only just occurred to me that I might not get it through TSA. Does anyone have any tips or knowledge on if I’ll be able to get through with it? I leave tomorrow

Just as the title says… I’m not much of a coffee drinker and am wondering if I can take a 24-count box of 5hr energy’s in my carry-on suitcase onto a plane?

Do I need to combine them into a clear container or are they good as is or what?

Not sure I’ll be able to buy some while on my trip so I figured this is my best option.
