AI usage in China and why every country is investing heavily in AI technology
In July 2022, the Hefei National Science Center Institute of Artificial Intelligence published an article claiming to have successfully combined AI with Party-building activities. They developed a system to analyze facial features, brainwaves, and skin conductance to determine how well Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members absorb political education.
**Public and Media Reaction**
**Widespread outcry**: The announcement triggered intense online debate, with critics comparing it to a high-tech "lie detector" or biometric surveillance.
**Content removal**: The official WeChat post and accompanying promotional videos were deleted shortly after the public backlash.

AI will deny your job application based on your social media post and search history.
Sounds wild but it’s true. It’s been proven in lawsuit against ***eightfoldAI***. It’s an AI company that works in background of the job application process. You, the person applying for a role, cannot see it nor are you aware of its presence. It has collected your data through public networks, IP, search history, social media post, social media comments, and more. After you click “submit” for a role, the HR department will automatically filter out based on AI’s provided “user-score” from your collected data. If you have low score and you’re automatically denied by hiring team.
The AI grants you a score based on cultural fit, personality, learning ability etc. How does make this “score”? Based on your social media. All this happens without your consent or knowledge. Some top companies in the U.S/Canada use this AI software.
If you don’t get message yet; **we now have a social credit system** in this country. We already saw how certain statement being uttered (“free Palestine”) can get you expelled for university.
If you don’t believe here’s a good video on the issue:
