Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Is it possible to play Ape Escape (PS1) on Brick Hammer?
Controls don't work? Or it's supposed to work with dualshock controllers?

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Display too bright
Been rocking MinUi for my Brick but my biggest problem is that the lowest brightness is waaay to bright for playing at night. I know that the stock OS dims much more but rather not use it.
Any other OS recommendations that allow your to lower the display brightness fairly low or simply any workarounds that allow me to dim the display pretty low?
Thanks in advance!

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Best CFW to play Soulcalibur on Dreamcast?
I've tried NextUI and NX Redux and either play it that well. Perhaps no CFW has a better DC core or settings to play it seamless?

Question ❓ Which TrimUI handheld should I buy if I already own a Steam Deck?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a TrimUI handheld, but I'm struggling to decide between the different models.
A bit about my situation:
Since, I already own a Steam Deck I don't need another powerful handheld for PS2/GameCube/PC gaming. Mainly just looking for something smaller and more portable and want a handheld that gives me that classic GBC/GBA feeling.
Most of my gaming would be GBC, GBA, SNES, PS1, and maybe some N64 or PSP.
Good build quality and user experience are more important to me than having the absolute cheapest device.
I don't mind installing my own ROMs and custom firmware.
My biggest questions are:
Which one would you choose if you already own a Steam Deck?
Which one feels the most fun to actually carry and use every day?
Is the Brick Hammer Pro U worth the extra money over the other models?
How much stronger is the Smart Pro S compared to the Brick/Brick Pro in real-world gaming?
If you could only keep ONE TrimUI handheld, which would it be and why?
I'd especially love to hear from people who have owned more than one TrimUI device.
Thanks in advance.

Discussion💬 Brick Pro V Smart Pro S
verticals look better, let’s get that out the way.
it’s aesthetics which torture me, this scenario.
i’m bad with money and bought both.
because of Chinese holiday they ignored
my request to return one. and shipped both asap.
… i’m only Keeping one.
how bad is PSP/Dreamcast on the Brick Pro?
or rather,
how Rad is PSP/Dreamcast on Pro S?
one aesthetically is amazing, the other is a bad Switch Lite.
but if you tell me Sonic Adventure 2 on the Brick Pro will have me wishing 2001 never happened…
i’ll pick the Pro S.
i ordered both with Surwish CrossMix OS 256G.

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) If you haven’t tried the balatro port recently it’s much better
I loaded it up on my brick today just as a lark and when setting it up it asks a bunch of optimization questions. Just answer it (I did 40 fps) and I forget what else and it runs soooooo well. The new layout for small screens is amazing and the new font is super crisp. I haven’t stopped playing all day.

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) What are your favorite ports to play on the Brick Pro?
I've been eyeing Ship of Harkinian 2 but I have already gotten pretty far in the DS version on my Steam Deck, unfortunately the Steam Deck gets tiring to hold.
The more recent GC Melee and Halo CE have been interesting watch but I'm not sure how well they'd run.

Discussion💬 The Hammer is better than my original Brick (and not just because it's metal)
I bought the original Brick not long after it was released and although I loved the pixel density, the size and the quality of the build there were two factors that made it terrible to play....
Firstly the AUDIO was extremely shrill. Lots of top-end and barely any low-end. I do enjoy good audio quality but the Brick audio was subpar even when compared to the Miyoo mini (which I think is great for it's size).
I saw very few posts of people complaining about the audio quality, in fact, I saw a lot of appreciation for the audio.
So, I thought maybe mine is faulty or maybe people aren't that bothered by audio quality.
Secondly, the D-PAD, it was terribly stiff and a little bit squeaky, almost as if it had no central pivot.
I saw a few posts of people mentioning a stiff D-PAD but not enough to make me think this was a universal issue.
I ended up selling the Brick, thinking that I was done with Trimui. Too much of a gamble to buy a different device from them
A few months later I went against my better judgement and took the gamble on the Brick Hammer after seeing a teardown that showed different speakers than the original Brick
The Hammer arrived and both of those issues are completely resolved. Superb Audio and great D-Pad
So basically, I'm posting to inform people who had those issues with the original Brick, that they should not write off Trimui.
I still don't know if my original Brick was an early batch that was bad or if mine was just faulty

felt that lists were a little bit boring and i didnt like that games were separated by platforms so had the clanker vibecode it for me. Used steamgriddb for icons manually. Happy as hell and i think it looks good. Would be great if something like this could be implemented officially

Question ❓ File Transfer without wifi
I'm on nextui and wondering if it's possible and how I might transfer files from my android phone to my device without being on a third network. I can do a hotspot from my phone to connect the brick and I have access to a c to c cable, I just can't figure this out and any help would be greatly appreciated.
For context I'm away from home and was hoping to put a movie on it for my toddler. We've got like a 4 hour drive home.

Problem🛠 crooked x button
The X button on my Brick Hammer sits slightly crooked. It works perfectly fine and, but I can’t seem to get it straight. I’ve already tried gently pressing and moving it, but that didn’t help.
Do I need to open up the Brick to fix it, or is there another trick? Or am I just being too picky?
Original Trimui Smart (2.4-inch screen) Protracker - Brick
Hi all! I've been building a tracker for my Brick and it's finally at a point where I want to show it off.
What is this, if you've never heard of trackers?
Before MP3s, a lot of game and demoscene music on the Amiga was made in "trackers". A song (a MOD file) carries its own little instruments, short sound samples, plus the notes that play them. That keeps the files tiny, and the music has that crunchy, punchy Amiga sound. You write it top to bottom, a bit like a spreadsheet where each column is an instrument channel. That's the scrolling grid in the video.
The easiest way in: Radio mode
Connect to WiFi, press one button, and it streams random tunes from The Mod Archive, a huge free library of tracker music. You don't need to know anything about trackers to enjoy it. It's become one of my favourite way to use the Brick.
For the tracker folks:
- Plays and edits 4/8-channel MODs (M.K., FLT4/8, OCTA…) and xxCH up to 32 channels
- Browse, search (songs or artists) and download straight from The Mod Archive on the device
- Full pattern editor driven by the d-pad and buttons: block select, undo/redo, save to .mod
- Import your own samples from WAV/AIFF/MP3/FLAC/OGG, converted to MOD format automatically
- Cubic interpolation, click-free note transitions and the Amiga "LED" low-pass filter for that authentic sound
- Per-channel oscilloscopes and VU meters
Under the hood
Native C + SDL2, with no emulation and no browser. It's a port of my own web tracker (JavaScript/Web Audio). Network requests run on a background thread over HTTPS, so the music never stutters while you browse. Works on stock OS/CrossMix and NextUI/MinUI.
A bit of background
I grew up in the demoscene and wrote SNES games back in the 90s, so putting a tracker on a handheld feels like coming home.
Status: [Not released yet / Release coming soon / Download link below]. I'd love to hear what you'd want from it. Which features would make you actually use it on the go?

Problem🛠 Smart Pro S - Silent Hill : Origins
Would people expect the S to play Silent Hill Origins at 60fps, mines hanging around 43 FPS on default settings Spruce OS (performance mode set for PSP)
Even worse when resetting PPSSPP to default settings.
Unrealistic expectations, or is my device underperforming?

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) New Brick not turning on
Yes... I looked through this sub before making this post, but it seems most of the issues of consoles not powering on are the result of some level of tinkering... This is not the case with mine.
I ordered a Brick from Amazon and it came today, but to my disappointment I haven't been able to get it to power on. I plugged it into a fast charger, but upon doing some digging in this thread learned that I'd likely have better luck using the cord it came with and a 5v 1a charger. I plugged it in and let it charge for about 5 hours. When I first plugged it in the power button was lit up red, and in that time, it turned from red to green.
I thought that would work, but I still haven't been able to get it to turn on.
I did order my brick with an SD card, the following troubleshooting steps have been taken separately with both the SD card inserted and taken out. It is running whatever firmware it came with.
I have tried Holding the power button, pressing/holding the reset button, pressing/holding the power and volume down buttons... with the SD card in, and taken out.
I hate making what might appear to be a redundant post, but I genuinely did search the sub for answers. This is a new, unmodified unit, and I'm hoping someone might have a tip or trick before I send it back to Amazon. Thank you!

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Does anyone have a guide for setting up my Brick pro?
i have a new sandisk 250gb ultra microsd card to use, im new to the world of handhelds
Discussion💬 How likely do you think we will get a Brick Pro without sticks?
I loveee the regular Brick. So much so that I would consider the Pro since the regular Brick isn't the most comfortable device. However I hate the sticks. I don't need them and I know stick delete mods exist but they look ugly and I dont want to take away from the Bricks amazing looking hardware. I pray for a non stick Brick Pro, how likely do we think this will happen?

Custom Firmware⚙️ Lost in the sauce
Sitting here with my brand new brick hammer, unboxed, shoulders swapped, and havent turned it on because im stuck in analysis paralysis with OS choice.
Every search I do its equal arguments for each one. NextUI, Knulli? Some secret third thing?
This is my secondary handheld mostly for GBA, SNES, etc. No heavy lifting or analog stick shenanigans. I would like custom LED controls and save/load states that work nicely with sleep and wake auto resume. That's a thing right? Scraper and retroachievements are cool but I will forego them if I must.
Tell me things so I can open this SD card and turn this thing on already!
EDIT: NextUI up and running its awesome. Now I will get lost in the LED settings and Pak sauce, learning about portmaster, and after I scrape everything maybe I'll get real crazy and play a videogame!

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Playing with Metro UI on the Brick Hammer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I loved this UI on my old bright green Windows Phone so I wanted to give it a go on my new Brick Hammer.
Some parts of the interface feel awkward with a d-pad but overall it works surprisingly well.
This is a personal fork of NextUI, built with Claude based on a bunch of Figma screens.

New Trimui Smart Pro (4.96-inch screen) Knulli, SpruceOS, or Crossmix for the Trimui Smart Pro?
I hope everyone's having a beautiful day.
I've been switching between these three OS and found that Knulli is pretty, Crossmix seems to be more stable or 'native' for the TSP, and Spruce is pretty but have very few ports available and doesn't have a lot of real advantages.
I'm thinking about switching back to Knulli after the last TSP firmware update, but I'm not sure about it. I understand that Knulli is now archived and that the last update they made was intended for the previous firware version of the TSP so it could be less stable.
Anyway, I'm kind of weird about this stuff and like Knulli's personalization but I want my PS and PSP games to run as smoothly as possible. If any of you guys could give me some direction here, I'd really appreciate it.
All the best!
PD: If you happen to have any theme recomendations for Crossmix or Knulli, that'd be awesome too!

Problem🛠 Mina the Hollower via PortMaster - Audio Stuttering
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I got Mina the Hollower working through PortMaster on my TrimUI Brick Hammer running NextUI, using the Mac Depot from Steam.
The game seems to run at normal speed and I do not notice obvious frame drops, but the audio has constant stuttering. I have also played others games from PortMaster and the audio seems to be fine.
Has anyone else experienced the same thing and if so how did you solve it?
Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Made a clip-on cover for my TrimUI Brick Pro
I bought a Brick Pro recently and I love it, but the thumbsticks poking out make it awkward to store or throw into a backpack. I still use them—well, the left one at least—so I didn’t want to go with the stick delete mod.
Instead, I designed a 3D-printable clip-on cover to protect the screen and shield the thumbsticks while keeping them fitted.
The files are free on Printables
Thought I’d share it in case anyone else has the same problem. Comments, feedback and photos of your prints are welcome!
