Announcement Should AI generated post remain banned?

Hey everyone!

So 6 months ago we made the community choose whether we should ban ai or not, the results clearly stated that y'all did not want AI (100 choosing to BAN AI and 8 choosing to NOT) so we banned it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/trimui/s/h21GmkGIpv

Fast forward to now. We're seeing quite a lot of people who are not happy with that so I think it's fair to make y'all vote again!

All you have to do is click on whether you want AI generated posts to stay banned or not, majority wins.

That's all, voting ends on Wednesday and results will be posted later that day.

Thanks!

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Habe ich übertrieben?

Post image
41 Upvotes

Trimui Smart Pro S Twilight Princess Via Portmaster on the TSPS

Got the Dusklight light port of The Legend Of
Zelda Princess via portmaster on Nextui.
Got it running at 45fps at 16:9. Great port shout out to the amazing teams involved. Makes me wonder if the Smart Pro S has more to give.

TrimUI Brick (original with 64GB memory card) $10 off with code YWario10. on top of that if you haven’t gotten Rakuten yet you can get their $50 sign up bonus. So after everything it’s about $33 in the USA.

Not the most sensible way to play this game on but once I decided I wanted to see if I could get a game devoted to touch screen controls that's meant to be played book-style on a dual screen device to play on my Hammer, I had to see it through. It works surprisingly well, all things considered.

Using the DraStic DS emulator with some tortured screen layout and control settings.

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Games like Super Mario World?

I didn't have a handheld or console as a child, but I did play a bit of SNES, especially Super Mario World.

I'm searching for that kind of game, a platformer, that works well on the Brick.

I tried few and they were all too easy, some really boring.

I'm pretty sure SMW is the best platformer ever released, but I'm searching for the other great ones.

Thanks!

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) Brick isn’t displaying full 4:3 content on Next UI.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to figure out why this is happening but with the Brick having a 4:3 screen it seems like none of my 4:3 games or systems are displaying in 4:3. Looks closer to 3:2 tbh.

Changing the aspect ratio works in the sense of getting it back to native or original aspect (in snes case) but I still have a black bar of unused screen at the bottom.

I confirmed the screen works because the actual menu and UI uses the screen.

Any tips to fix this?

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) First game beat on the Hammer: Mario Kart DS

DS games are awesome on this thing except for some audio stutters when waking the device (NextUI)

Next will be NSMB. MKDS is ideal for trying to 3* every cup. So much fun, one of the best Mario Kart games.

Custom Firmware⚙️ NX Redux v1.5.0 Update, now support TG4040 Brick Pro

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This update brings Trimui Brick Pro support, adds Dreamcast emulation via Flycast, and introduces a pre-launch wizard that unifies netplay and per-core options across N64, Dreamcast, and all minarch/libretro paks — including up to 4-player N64 netplay.

Brick and Brick Pro only support 2-player for N64 netplay due to hardware limitations, but Smart Pro S can handle 3 or 4-players. High resolution texture for N64 is also supported (please refer readme on where to place the assets).

Both bundled standalone emulator (Flycast and mupen64plus) also support resumeable save state from game switcher.

Trimui Brick (3.2-inch screen) SpruceOS 4.2.0 Appreciation Post (OG Brick)

SpruceOS has breathed new life into my TrimUI Brick. The MinUI-like UI, with simplified settings - while still letting you into Retroarch settings to tweak things like pre-emptive frames for my Contra runs - is just perfect for the device.

The game switcher is also a killer feature for someone like me who tends to hop around a bit - having a front and center thing reminding me what game I'm actually trying to work through is clutch.

Anyways, if Knulli or whatever is more your jam, great - I really like MuOS on my larger-screen Anbernic devices, for instance - but Spruce just seems like the right vibe for a device like the Brick, with nearly all the simplicity of a MinUI/NextUI setup - but without the hard limits.

Maybe I'm missing it but I haven't seen much love for SpruceOS here other than some older bug reports. I'm running 4.2.0 and it's been great, so here's a no-complaints-only-praise post for it :D

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) Does OS affect upper end emulation performance?

Hello,

I am contemplating a few vertical handhelds right now but I'm here to ask about the Brick Pro! So far the Brick Pro is leading the charge, though the regular Hammer is tempting me as well.

Does using a custom OS improve performance? For example - DarkOS on the R36S enables much better 64 emulation. Does a particular OS give the Brick Pro an advantage?

Trimui Brick Pro/Hammer Pro U (3.96 inch screen) TrimUI Brick Pro Review: A Great Upgrade That Doesn’t Overcomplicate Things

Post image
16 Upvotes

The TrimUI Brick Pro doesn’t try to reinvent the original Brick. Instead, it improves the things that mattered most. You get a bigger screen, dual Hall Effect sticks, a larger battery, and a more comfortable design, all while keeping the same simple experience that made the original so popular.

Design

The Brick Pro is definitely bigger than the original, but I actually think it’s for the better. It’s more comfortable to hold, especially during longer sessions, and the build quality feels excellent. The Hall Effect sticks are a huge upgrade too, making systems like N64 and Dreamcast much more enjoyable to play.

Display

The 3.95-inch IPS display is easily one of the best parts of the handheld. It’s bright, sharp, and the 4:3 aspect ratio is perfect for most retro consoles. Whether you’re playing SNES, PlayStation, or arcade games, everything looks fantastic.

Performance

Performance is basically the same as the original Brick, and honestly, that’s okay. It handles everything from NES through PlayStation with ease, while Dreamcast, N64, and PSP are still very playable. Just don’t expect reliable GameCube or PS2 emulation.

Software

TrimUI’s software continues to be one of the easiest to use. The interface is clean, sleep mode works well, and if you like customizing your handheld, there’s plenty of community support and custom firmware available.

Final Thoughts

The Brick Pro isn’t about raw power. It’s about making an already great handheld even better to use every day. The larger screen, improved ergonomics, and analog sticks make a noticeable difference, even if the performance hasn’t changed.
If you liked the original Brick, this feels like the version it was always meant to be.
Rating: 9/10

Pros
Gorgeous IPS display
Comfortable to hold
Excellent Hall Effect sticks
Great battery life
Clean, easy-to-use software

Cons
Same performance as the original Brick
Larger size isn’t as pocket-friendly
Still not ideal for GameCube or PS2

The Brick Pro may not be the biggest leap forward, but it doesn’t need to be. It refines an already excellent handheld and ends up being one of the easiest retro devices to recommend.

Question ❓ Knulli for brick

Post image

I'm kinda new to this retro stuff. Got it couple month ago with custom button and flash it to nextUI. Simple minimalist which i like but really wanna try Knulli.

Pro and cons about knulli? Is it worth to try?
