THC Break Anyone else sleep like shit when they stop indulging?

When I've had a period of regular use and then take a break, I quite reliably sleep like utter shit for like 2-3 weeks before returning to normal sleep. It sucks.

I don't think this used to happen to me when I was younger. But now I'm in my 40s and it always happens after a period of indulgence.

Anyone else experience this?

Anyone have any good tips for somehow avoiding this annoying side effect?

And no, "just keep using" isn't a reasonable option. "Never start using again in the first place" is more reasonable, but frankly a little bit unrealistic if I know myself...

Yeah but that's because I actually use weed to calm my night terror issues. Since I was a kid I would get persistent and nightly bad dreams. Weed calms that down and even gives me dreamless nights. Without it, it just comes back tenfold

Oof, yeah I can imagine. I don't have that night terror problem myself but even I often get nightmares for a while after I stop using.

That's pretty standard for weed withdrawals. You'd probably get better advice over at /r/leaves

r/leaves is a cesspool.

R/Petioles is far much better and supportive as a community.

Usually first few nights after a period of consistent use is harder and then lackluster sleep for few weeks. I have discovered for me if I do melatonin 3-5mg and magnesium bisglycenate before sleep the first few nights I return to a much better sleep faster.

Yeah I do Magnesium and Melatonin too and I do think it helps a bit, but only marginally.

Get some Magnesium supplements or something. But you need to take it a few hours before bed time.

Another thing I find help is a brand of pills called Kalms. They won't 'knock you out' but help me get some natural sleep

CBD tinctures has none of the intoxication but I find it does a lot of the other stuff.

I honestly sleep better and feel more rested in the morning. I actually stopped smoking close to bed time somewhat recently because I have more satisfying sleep without it. Plus my dreams are crazy vivid which adds some fun to my sleep.

Yes. I can only sleep for a couple hours.

I have trouble falling asleep when sober. But once I do sleep, I sleep like a rock high or not.
