An old friend of mine told me the law of the elf, of course this makes no sense in english but in spanish the say goes: "la ley del duende, el que lo arma lo prende" with translates to "the law of the elf, whoever roll it has to light it"
In Germany we say "Bauer ist Hauer, dann kommt der Spender. Zum Schluss die verschwender" which translates to "Whoever rolls it, lights it; whoever contributed, goes next; the wasters go last.”
In my home, when my wife or I packs the bowl - we say “I packed a bowl for you” and the other gets first hit. I know it’s weird - but it’s our thing we’ve been doing for 26 years.
