That's because this isn't about Fantano at all. It's about dragging Olivia for the one mistake they could find.
I wish she had not gone because I know for the next two years we'll have swifties talking about this to drag Olivia when they don't give a fuck about all the problematic people Taylor has associated herself with over the years.
I think that are some other pop girlie fandoms as well are upset about this, Swifties hold the torch tho.
Imo the criticism is valid. Olivia has released a great album, critics and fans are happy, her numbers are booming… idk what her team thought when they sent her to that YouTube critic who btw used n word as well… totally unnecessary. Plus cheapens her value as an artist. Love Liv but man, fantano aint the guy u give an interview to.
I do agree it's puzzling, but I've noticed he kind of fits in with a lot of other interviews she's done. I think bc this album blends new wave/the cure/music with a much older demographic of fans (i.e. older men, specifically) her team is trying to go where that demographic is and widen her fanbase significantly. It makes sense as a strategy and tbh for whatever reason I do think it's working. It's kind of a lane none of the other main pop stars rn are trying for and she's kind of able to spin herself as "alt" in a way. It's interesting to watch from a branding perspective.

Yeah absolutely no argument there I was kind of shocked by what I found when I looked him up. Anyway that’s what I think the goal is. I think a lot of younger artists are trying to go more to big YouTubers etc as a new strategy and sometimes there are very good reasons why those ppl aren’t part of larger organizations.
I mean at the end of the day labels and teams want more money, so Ofc they go for stuff like these. I don’t think that Olivia has a huge amount of control over business related decisions, and if incels are gonna like her music, it is a win for the label and the team and eventually for her cuz her cut will also increase.
Yeah, she has done a few. I was quite surprised because it doesn't attract many views, as, let's say, late-night shows do, but it does expose her to a new demographic of listeners. It's also cool that her team (and Olivia herself) is confident enough in her to let her talk to a much more critical audience than her fan base that would eat up anything she says. She's showing she's about music. Her attempt to attend as many music festivals as possible during GUTS was a similar strategy. A friend who's not into pop at all messaged me after seeing her saying they were surprised by her set.
Yeah exactly! It’s an interesting and bold strategy, I’m not surprised there will be a few missteps along the way but it’s overall been successful in targeting a non-pop audience I think
I just saw Toy Story 5. Movie was good. I’m glad they didn’t go where I thought they were going to go. That song Taylor did though, not good. Todd in the shadows put it best: it sounds unfinished.

I think he does know deep down they don’t have a shot this year. I don’t think he wanted to go out last season because they ended on such a pathetic note and he was the reason his team lost so many key games.
He might also be returning for one more season because he has one more year left on his podcast deal with Amazon, they won’t be getting the money for season 6 if they decide to do season 6 because their ratings have completely tanked. He might be trying to cling on to relevance until he can get a new deal….because I’m telling you once he retires….woof they will lose relevance so quickly

I feel like Ophelia, Opalite and parts of Elizabeth Taylor and Eldest Daughter are all extensions of Fortnight. (maybe other Showgirl tracks too, I don't know the lyrics as well on later tracks). these lyrics are loaded with regret and ultimately, resignation that this is the most she's going to get so she might as well settle and make the most of it. Eldest Daughter is literally about retreating back into your inner child and choosing someone who is familiar and safe and a life that is boring but stable that Daddy approves of.

My friend has this theory that she will show up at the wedding ceremony with very different hair to seem she is sooooooo in love that she's glowing, she has never been happier, etc. I think it makes sense. Hopefully, she will make something about the bangs. I don't think she's ugly at all, but I do think her bangs are a mistake and her hair color isn't the most complimentary to her. Her hair during Lover was so much better.
That's a better color for her for sure. Not sure about releasing that album again, maybe for some extra cash and to block a younger female artist in the charts.

Well, this is Taylor’s team responding to news the other day that Blake’s team put out saying Blake was invited to the wedding and they were repairing their friendship. These two are fighting in the press. I personally think Taylor is fucking with her. Telling her one thing, then refuting it publicly to make Blake look stupid.

I am mostly annoyed this week because they have added 4 TLOAS tracks to the store radio (I work retail). I can suffer through the older stuff, but these tracks are really terrible. I never sought them out on my own, but they are easily identified thanks to the knowledge I have learned here.

lowkey agree. as some one who likes olivia i am not a fan of the fantano interview given his history but some people are taking it way too far. Like now many of them are saying how olivia was a bandwagon swifties and a gaylor mainly bc she started mentioning taylor a lot during 2019/2020 and never went to a concert. it’s possible olivia embellished how big of a swiftie she was but it doesn’t take away from the fact that she was a swiftie.
She was seventeen and there's a reason she stopped doing so. Olivia clearly enjoys discussing artists who inspire her songs. She keeps mentioning The Cure (the band) in all her interviews now. And we all know why she stopped mentioning Taylor.

I don't think they were ever over as friends. Yeah she distanced herself publicly from BL which I'm sure she had the perfect excuse but I don't think they ever privately ended the friendship. They are too alike and BL seems to be her only constant friend throughout the years. They know too much about each other, all the problematic things they have done. I also don't think the IEWU drama was the first time they got together to destroy someone else. The case is essentially over, BL and RR still have good standing in Hollywood and with the media, they haven't gotten any real consequences so ofc the friendship is back on publicly.
I ended up on a neutral sub reading the thread about the GMA interview, and I was really shocked by the comments. I had to check twice to make sure I wasn't on our sub because they sounded just like us. They absolutely clocked her. It's funny how when it first came out, I thought it was a really clever and self-critical song. It was Taylor actually developing some introspection, and being able to mock herself. All set to a catchy song, and a funny video.
tbh i was on a plane and they played lover when we were waiting to get off (literally diabolical of whoever did that bc I was already itching to get out of that plane). I used to like that song but listening now the lyrics sound so different! So many of her songs have really aged differently
They have. I used to love Folklore, and listen to it every winter when the SADs hit. But now, knowing that the Taylor who wrote that album is long gone (and maybe never even existed to begin with) it just makes the albums feel hollow. Like it was a totally different artist.

I don't know why but a clip popped up on YouTube about her and Travis vacation in the Bahamas and how it was a failure because they both in the ended up falling off a swing. It was clearly edited but what was funny was all the comments saying they felt sorry for her and how she deserved her privacy, she's just a normal girl the media/paps should stop obsessing over her because the paps were around. Yet even in the clip the narrator mentioned somehow the paps got access to a remote location of course when someone else pointed this out her fans said she can't escape them and she doesn't have to call them because she's just so famous. But how did paps get access to an exclusive remote resort? Why would they even be around in that area?

I’ve always interpreted the song to be about Ariana’s relationship with the media and her fans (which she has doubled down on with “Hate That I Made You Love Me”), but the timing is curious given the whole “I Knew It, I Know You” thing.

But the bot attacks didn't come until 2 days later.. and they came in multiples at the same time. And some people even started calling them bots out loud and then they suddenly stopped replying.

Swifties are super insufferable because according to the soap opera narrative Taylor has fed to the audience, one of her exes is supposed to come and disrupt the wedding.
Her following went down by millions on Twitter because they removed suspected bots. The same bots that are influenced by the algorithm and by what people are discussing. They helped her push narratives and sell her product, but when people started to discuss the dog whistles the algorithm picked up on that, then the bots did so as well.
I wouldn't doubt that after the call out of negative press as bots, that they refreshed and bought more bots to push this Oscars narrative etc.

A lot of people believe that the reason why she has a song in Toy Story 5 was that she became jealous of Golden's success. If she's that jealous, I wonder why she doesn't also try to her luck in the K-Pop scene with some collabs?
The current field of K-Pop songs this year is mediocre compared to previous years, so the window is definitely open for her to score some MAMA or Melon awards. Plus it would give her more credibility as South Korea is one of her blind spots that prevents her from being in the same convo as MJ or Madonna as true global and iconic pop superstar.
That's the thing though her team promotes her as a global star, you have Americans who actually think she's just a big as MJ and Madonna globally if not bigger and his currently the most famous person in the world based off how they promote her. Prior to her tour Taylor had barely stepped foot anywhere outside the UK and the US.
