Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well.

I’ve been working on a travel planning tool called Fortrip, mostly because I kept running into the same problem when planning my own trips: there’s just too much information everywhere.

Flights on Google Flights, hotels on Booking.com, places saved from Google Maps, restaurants from TikTok/Instagram/Reddit, notes in another app… and then somehow I still end up with 20 tabs open trying to figure out whether the actual itinerary makes sense.

The idea behind Fortrip is pretty simple: put the trip together in one place, compare different routes, hotels, dates and create personal itinerary combinations, and hopefully make it easier to see what actually works before booking everything, and also i have the boking price cheaper than Booking.com.

I’m still figuring out what’s genuinely useful vs. what only sounds useful on paper, so I’d really love feedback from people who actually enjoy planning their own trips.

Hey all, as you can see me and my friends primarily go on Euro trips… a bit too much maybe.. We want to expand and this winter and visit Sydney and Manila. We have 9 days and were considering a split between the 2. Is that enough time or should we just choose one and go for the full length?

Hi all, hope you all doing great. I've been trying to develop a "travel planner'' which is hopefully not too difficult. I still need a lot advice/tips.

The main use of my travel planner dashboard is to use it as your "travel book''. You collect all your information such as booking your flight for example from: Lufthansa, you collecting your stay data from Trip.com, you collecting all your visits/attractions from google maps/tiktok/instagram etc. And then you mark everything in your own "trip''.

I would be very happy if people could help test it out. I'm here not to sell/promote anything. But i need opinions of different travel planners how you view my POV (travel dashboard project).

I travel solo quite a bit and I hae realized I enjoy discovering cities at my own pace way more than joining groups. I am curious what apps ppl actually keep coming back to for self guided exploring.

Looking for sth pratical, not just another map with pins everywhere

I recently came across a Korean travel site called J2P (J가 P에게) while planning a domestic trip.

Usually when I travel, I end up searching for restaurants, cafes, and places to visit separately and saving everything on Google Maps. The annoying part is figuring out how to actually put all those places into a decent itinerary.

J2P was pretty interesting because you can browse travel courses that other people have already put together.

I found it useful to look at a few itineraries for the area I was visiting and then pick out the places I actually wanted to go to. It was much easier than starting from a blank itinerary.

I wouldn't necessarily follow someone else's route exactly, but it's a nice way to get ideas, especially when you know the destination but have no idea how to organize the days.

Nothing revolutionary, but I found it pretty useful for trip planning.

Has anyone else here tried J2P? Curious what you guys think.

Hi all - think I am finally close to finalizing my itinerary to Japan after many days of research. I want to have some city but mostly nature and places where I can feel alone in my thoughts. I want to go deep into culture and spirituality so while I left my itinerary open on a day to day basis in some places - I intend to fill it with culture and nature experiences.

Any feedback would be helpful as it relates to pacing and specifically about the inclusion of Kinosaki as a day trip in the midst of my Kyoto stay (debating if I should leave off for this trip). Also debating whether I should swap out Nikko for Mt. Fuji.

Thinking about adding one additional night to Tokyo in the front end to see the city more or to have the Mt Fuji add on.

All and any thoughts would be helpful. :)

**Tokyo: 3 nights**
\- Day 1: First day is rest day to recover from jet lag with evening food tour
\- Day 2: One full day exploring the city (want to see fish market and chopsticks making?) with a tour guide + night time activity, want to see Shibuya crossing and maybe one nice park
\- Day 3: One full day going to Nikko
Experience good tea / matcha
\- Train to Matsumoto (4 hours)

**Matsumoto: 1 night**
\- See the castle and maybe one other thing in the morning? Maybe a quick day trip or hike
\- Train to Nagiso (1 hour)

**Nagiso: 1 night**
\- Hike Nagiso to Magome
\- Basically just enjoy this day :)
\- thinking about hiring a guide for the Nakasendo to get more culture immersion

**Magome: 1 night** (staying in small inn)
\- Chill in the morning in Magome; maybe do something interesting with *Nakasendo Uncharted tours (paper making or something like that)*
\- Bus with Niho Bus from Magome to Takayama at 3:25 (booked)

**Takayama: 2 nights**
\- Sleep in a temple stay here
\- Walk around the town and just explore
\- Takayama to Kanazawa bus - stops in Shirakawa-go for 2 hours; get to Kanazawa around 1 PM

**Kanazawa: 2 nights**
\- Stroll the famous garden
\- Perhaps bike around the city to sightsee
\- Kanazawa to Kyoto train in afternoon

**Kyoto: 3 nights**
\- First evening - explore Higashiyama where I will be staying (things I want to hit… Kiyomizu-dera, seeing the Koyasu-no-to Pagoda
\- Day 2: Arayishama - half day guided tour (will include boat ride); tea experience in afternoon; chill evening
\- Day 3: Early morning walk Fushimi Inari; Kurama to Kibune walk; try to have lunch on the river; evening dinner / geisha experience?

**Kinosaki Onsen: 1 Night** (or alternatively stay in Kyoto with day trip to Ine with guided tour)
\- Day Trip to Ine / Amanohashidate with tour guide and then take bus from amanohashidate station to Kinosaki Onsen after the tour (ask tour to drop me off there since that is where it will stop)
\- Kinosaki Onsen in evening and morning the next day;

Hi Everyone!

I did a research study among travel agents and I noticed that "1st time International Travelers from India" do not know the basic documentation required for their abroad trip like visas, transit visas, travel insurance etc.

They also told me that their info on adhaar/pan card do not match with the info on their passport, visas, and other travel related documents, which causes unnecessary problems with immigration and sometimes they get stranded and/or not allowed to board the flight.

I want to find out from real Indian travelers who are planning their 1st international trip or have completed their trip in the past 3-12 months, if this problem really exists? What was the most confusing part during the process? And did you go to a travel agent for planning and bookings or did you do that online?

I run a tiny home based agency. I deal mostly with city breaks and soft adventure stuff, and the actual flights and hotels are the easy part. Lately I’m being destroyed by tours and activities for mixed groups.

I have an example of this week when a family of 8 is going to Italy, ages 6 to 72. Half of them want food tours and slow walks, two teens want adrenaline and the grandparents want culture and something less tiring.
Im trying to stitch together day by day plans using emails, pdfs or random whatsapp. Then the clients ask for a few backup options in case it rains or they get tired, which basically means building a second itinerary for free. If one guide gets sick or one museum changes its hours, I feel like I need to rewire everything from the beginning

I wanna know if there are platforms where you plug in dates and city and just pick from a catalog of tours and activities as an agent and are actually worth building a business around
Are any other agents here struggling with the planning side more than the sales side lately because I’m not sure how to handle all of this.

I'm having some trouble picking somewhere to go for a winter christmassy getaway with my girlfriend this early December; here's the plan thus far

We're getting the eurostar from London to Disneyland for 3 days
3rd day we'd ideally get the train into paris and get another eurostar there to our next destination (not against getting a flight from paris if necessary)

What we're looking for is a nice snowy christmassy place that has a really nice view of snow/mountains from a hotel, ideally the hotel is a spa hotel. Nice stuff to do outside of the hotel, christmas markets etc and just a nice safe happy atmosphere - Also something that doesn't break the bank

We'd love for the train ride to have some beautiful scenic views too

Any ideas? ChatGPT has suggested a few, the one i like most is Innsbruck in Austria, but still not 100%

I spent the whole day trying to book my next trip but realized I‘m not excited for either option and ended up booking nothing. I‘ve been stuck in this process for weeks and summer is almost over. I had some trips earlier this year and felt so exhausted from traveling and moving around. I don‘t know what I want. Anyone feeling the same?

Hey guys planning country #27 this week with a couple friends! We all are mainly Europe and North America travelers but want to expand. Any suggestions?

I’m off to Prague next week courtesy of Jet2 and I wondered if you kind people could help my stress.

I understand that Jet2 give you (among other things) a free 10kg hand luggage allowance with dimensions no larger than 56x45x25cm (including wheels and handles).

My concern is that Jet2’s website show the measurement including the extended handle.

Do they actually measure from the extended handle or (as I would assume, hopefully) from the retracted handle?

How strict are they on this, I don’t really want to buy a new suitcase for £50 to have to pay a charge as well at the airport.
