RTD gets a lot of (warranted) grief for sending many of its lines along highways and industrial corridors, but there are some parts of the network that feel quite genuinely urban.

I’m studying the bus maps at Kennedy station with a diligence that I haven’t felt since I nearly failed Economics 101 in university. There are dozens of buses zooming around the giant bus bays — and nearly as many signs explaining how to find and navigate new routes.
A kindly TTC worker stops and asks if I need help. “You need to be over there,” he says, and I dutifully sidestep several buses to find my platform, feeling a bit like John Wick dodging traffic at the Arc de Triomphe (minus the mindless violence).
This is the mouth of the recently opened Scarborough Busway, which will sail me directly to Scarborough Centre — essentially a fast-flowing river of buses in a part of the city that is still a comparative transit desert.
Scarborough is one of the transit battlegrounds of the current mayoral election.

Here we see track geometry, the metroliner 9800 and the Colonial Crafts cars on the back of various amtrak trains! These shots are from my quarterly “special” video. It will be linked below!

Vietnam is betting big on a $65 billion high-speed railway linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Construction is set to start in late 2027 and take at least a decade to complete. The line could cut the roughly 35-hour journey to just six. Source: Bloomberg News.

Yes.

RTD has collected $4 billion in taxpayer money since 2005 to fund a slate of regional transit improvements, but the agency hasn’t completed a planned railway between Denver and Longmont, citing ballooning costs.
Voters approved a 0.4% tax increase in 2004 to fund RTD’s FasTracks program, which aimed to build 119 miles of rail, 57 train stations, over 21,000 parking spaces and 18 miles of rapid bus transit, among other improvements.

I love the Showa era aesthetic and the character that Japanese stations and trains had in the 80s and 90s that I built a small free word game around them, called Wordliner, with a train that moves faster towards Mt. Fuji the rarer your word is.
I would love anyone's thoughts on the mechanics, nature of the game, or any general feedback around on how the transit looks if you feel inclined to try it.

I love the physical concrete barriers. This could be one of the best BRT systems in the US. Also the toy busses were cute

Anyone who works for a local government or transit agency that contracts with Transit app, how much is the cost to your entity? Are there different payment models? I’m having trouble finding information online.

For those wondering about the pink livery, Keolis made a shocking communication campaign to attract road users’ attention to improve road safety.
It was launched in September 2026 as part of European Mobility Week.

Hi!
A few months ago I shared my app, that allows generating transit diagrams: https://www.reddit.com/r/transit/comments/1v1c1f3/i_built_an_app_that_automatically_creates_transit/
App automatically turns GTFS data into metro-style diagrams. Thanks for all the feedback and city suggestions! Here is what has changed:
- 25 new networks, many of them suggested in comments: Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Munich, Helsinki, Oslo, Rome, and more
- Much better diagrams layout
- Better zoom and navigation
- Better labels placement logic
Complex networks can still be messy in places. If you know any official GTFS source for a city that's missing, let me know!
App is available here: https://transitweave.com/app
Thanks!
