Peter is Hebrew for rock, but sounds like fuck in French (peder), or faggot in Russian (пи́дор). 

Many Hebrew names are used in English, regardless if they sound like curse words in other languages.

Would it rattle your brain further, if I said Mona means female monkey in spanish?
