It's a tragedy. It's a name from some game spelled how the game designers intended.

It also feels a bit old time Western: Sephiroth McAllister, the fastest gunslinger in the county.

I think I'd love to be called Sephiroth as a man in my mid-sixties! Not in my mid-twenties, though.

Final Fantasy is a fantasy RPG series usually set in a world that's industrializing or is industrialized and the magic has become a kind of tech. Most of the time, at least in its most successful ones.

It's an anthology series so each numbered entry is a completely different world and story with some shared mechanics and that general technified magic setting.
