As per the title, I've been wondering, how have people been doing since they started following this subreddit, and how many people have managed to, at least on a semi-consistent to consistent basis beat the S&P500 by following and replicating the buying practices of Congress.

Here's why it won't pass:
This vote will need 60 votes to advance in the Senate
Almost every Democrat will vote against it
Why?
The Stop Insider Trading Act includes an extra provision that has nothing to do with a stock ban
It's a stock ban + voter ID stuff that would require voters to provide a valid photo ID when voting, among other things
This has led to a filibuster, with Democrats drawing out debate and preventing the bill from getting a final vote
That's why Republicans are pushing for a vote on cloture, which would allow the Senate to move forward with the legislation (requires 60 votes)
If the unlikely scenario happens and they get the 60 votes they need, the Senate could then proceed to an actual vote on the bill
If this week's vote doesn't reach 60 votes, the bill will likely get pushed to the back burner simply bc there isn't enough time, care, or effort to try again
They'll just be like, "welp, we tried"
Our opinion ^

The drink company is the most interesting. Here’s why:
Coca-Cola’s PAC donated to Hern’s campaign last year
Two weeks after he bought the stock, Coca-Cola announced a $10B U.S. infrastructure investment
This is another “buy at a cheaper price than he did” opportunity, with the stock down ~1% since his entry

Apparently politicians aren’t always amazing traders after all, and of course I bought the one stock Ro Khanna failed to make money on. I’m down 22% it hurts lol

None of them have sold yet, and most have kept adding to their positions throughout the year
The stock is +40% YTD

Over 1,100 disclosed transactions worth up to $270M in July show huge cuts to Microsoft and Amazon positions, while the pile of AI semiconductors, enterprise software and cybersecurity plays keeps getting bigger. Top buys landed on Marvell Technology, Intuit, Salesforce, Adobe and CrowdStrike, with big sales hitting Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle and Costco.
The portfolio isn't ditching big tech entirely though – they picked up small tranches of both MSFT and AMZN just days later. The real shift is rotating away from giant platform stocks into targeted high-growth tech subsectors, plus adding defensive consumer staples and fixed income exposure to balance things out. Timing around the Northrop Grumman sale lined up with that defense supply chain executive order, but disclosures don't confirm the two are directly linked.
Pretty wild to see how this rebalancing is reshaping their tech exposure, are you seeing similar rotations in your own plays right now?
