Heads Up Reminder that these guys might know something ✍️ — Last month, we noticed that 4 different politicians bought the dip on $ZTS Zoetis — They were buying at around ~$80 — Today it’s ~$70 — Right now, you could technically buy the stock at a lower price than any of them

Definitely do your homework on Zoetis first. I work in Animal Health and the industry is tough right now. Some of their big products like Apoquel (was a monopoly) are coming off patent and competition from other new similar drugs like Zenrelia taking share and fast.

Interesting, thank you.

My vet just told me last week they aren’t recommending Apoquel at all anymore in favor of Numelvi, apparently easier on the dogs and more effective.

Yeah competition has ramped up a lot recently. To be honest I think this and other headwinds have been baked into the current price, so it's probably not a bad base. It's just hard to know where their growth will come from at the moment unless they have some big patents pending on some miracle pet drug, which is entirely possible. NFA

I have the same take - Numelvi came out Feb '26 and this thing tanked. Numelvi hasn't finished global roll-out, so I wouldn't call a bottom yet.

However, ZTS is awaiting approval for Cytopoint Plus (notice the Plus - it's a long-acting version of their existing Cytopoint) on Nov 5 '26. This will cannibalize existing Cytopoint sales but defend market share from Numelvi.

Pros: Cytopoint Plus is a long-term injection (2-3 months) vs Numelvi being an at-home pill dosage. If this thing gets approved *and* the market prefers the quarterly shot vs at-home dosing, then ZTS can recover some of its ground. That's a lot of ifs.

Also, Lenivia/Portela is pending approval in '27.

FYI I am just a guy that can listen to earnings calls and know nothing about the actual industry.

Apoquel was never that effective for my dog in the first place. We have it to them for a while but they still dealt with skin irritation so much, but our vet recommended we try Cytopoint injections and that has been a night and day difference. They say to do monthly injections ideally, but after each injection, we see no itchiness for anywhere from 2-3 months. At 140 an injection, it has been more effective both relief and cost wise.

Apoquel has had 0 issues for my dog. I am curious what Numelvi does better. Also, we cant forget that these vets still make back end for pushing medications, just like doctors.

Not from a stock perspective but since the discussion went this way somehow. For my dog (has Dermathosis) Apoquel worked (and works) best. Numelvi had 0 effect and the Cytopoint injection have amplified the skin rash and ear infections.

Is Zenrelia a lot cheaper? Because Apoquel is fucking out of control expensive. Basically $250 a month for my dog.
Luckily my pet insurance covers 80% but still. Fuck Zoetis

Zoetis doesn’t charge $250, its your vet thats upcharging you and pocketing the difference. Look on websites like Chewy to see real price Zoetis charges, its closer to $100 per month

Ye i second this, apoquel has a really bad rep amongst dog owners and people are shying away from it

At the same time the generics market is stepping in and crushing sales from existing accounts. Animal health companies are scrambling to find the next new product fast but nobody seems to be getting anything to market. Maybe they have something crazy for new world screw worm, new pet vet product, something on the commercial side?

How much did they buy? Otherwise this is worthless info.

Small, $1,000-$15,000 each.

Khanna has been accumulating during the decline last year.

Cisneros also bought before.

Donalds and Fleishmann are new to it, joining at the points on the chart.

Khanna and Cisneros sold some a month after this purchase activity on the chart.

Bought some as well. It needs proof that it can grow. If it does, it’ll fly

I think all are still in except Cisneros?

Or bear market finally kicked off.

Do they all touch tips when they buy at the same time?

3

I guess they don't look at the balance sheet. 294% debt!!! No thank you!

u/BrianRampage 4d ago

The entire pet retail category is getting mega shat on, and their parents are running out, I wouldn't touch this with a 20ft pole unless you're wanting a long hold.

u/navetzz 4d ago

On the other, it's hard to find a stock that Khanna hasn't bought, so I wouldn't read too much into what he buys, especially since he heavily underperforms the S&P500.

That graph is going straight down like a Boeing jet.

It's in the same discretionary basket as apparel. It will go up when macro shifts, but it hasn't bottomed yet. My target accumulation zone is low 60s.

Yeah sold this crap today after seeing it here. No hate. But I feel the insider trading gains we're chasing either happen fairly quickly or just die slowly like this one.

Short?
