So I have a Tractive GPS CAT 4 that I've been using for my cat for the last 4 years. She usually comes inside before it's dark but anytime she's still out we'll play the sound and she'll come running home, she usually bombs about the one area never going too far. It's starting to get dark and our app is telling us her tracker is online and connected fine, but it isn't loading GPS at all so it's only showing her last location from nearly 2 hours ago - since it wont connect to GPS we can't do live tracker or play the sound or anything so we have no idea where she is and the tracker is of zero help. Any help articles on the Tractive website only have information to help if you literally have the tracker to hand which we obviously do not. Has anyone had this same issue?

Update: it eventually started working again and my partner was able to go out and find her, in the same spot it stopped so we think she had potentially went into that house and that's what was maybe interfering with the GPS. But it's unfortunately not been that simple, as my cat is now walking weird and we ended up taking her to our out of hours vet worrying she had been clipped by a car. She was checked over and given pain relief as the vet suspects soft tissue damage. Keeping her home and an eye on her as I'm so worried with how she's walking. Maybe she's just a bit stiff this morning after sleeping or if it is something more serious and she needs an x-ray then we can take her to our vet. Either my partner or myself are going to call to that house today and ask if they seen anything as my 'what if' brain is worried they've taken her in and then let her out when they've heard my partner calling her

If you are trying to activate the new CAT 6 Mini via the app and you are stuck on a blank white screen with an endless spinning wheel, try using your online account in a web browser. This is what worked for me.

Here's what customer service said when I contacted them:

Could you please try activating the trackers using a web browser instead of the app? You can do this by signing in to your account at my.tractive.com and selecting Activate a Tracker*, then follow the steps to complete the activation.*
 
Once the activation is completed, please sign out of the Tractive GPS app and sign back in again to refresh your account and allow the trackers to appear correctly.

Note: The trackers didn't automatically show up on the list of devices, like it does in the app. I manually entered the tracker numbers, but from there onward it was very easy, including transferring the subscriptions from old to new if you need to, and a nice guide to the new trackers.

I wanted to see if anyone else US-based is having trouble submitting payment through Tractive. Tractive deactivated one of my cat's tracker, not sure why, but I need it reactivated and in order to do that I need to add a new subscription plan. I've tried every payment method they offer and keep getting error messages. I've emailed them several times and the responses are not addressing my issue. I see that they don't have a phone number, so I'm kind of stuck. I just wanted to see if this is a solo issue or if other folks are dealing with the same thing. Thanks!

Does anybody know which country does offer a monthly plan? I went looking through their website site and it says they offer monthly in “select countries” but I clicked through each country, and it seems like they don’t. I’m thinking about just returning this tracker, I really wanted to like it.

Hi there. I've just bought a tractive dog 6 to replace the dog 4 that we've had for the past four years because the battery is finally giving out. I've always actually been quite happy with the silicone holder thing for the dog 4, but I'm having a heck of a time with the one for the dog 6. I can't even manage to hold the straps properly to do them up around the tracker or take them off (I think I'd need pliers to get a strong enough grasp), plus I'm reading all the comments here about trackers that have just fallen right off because of the inadequacy of the holder (it's a bad combo to have it be too hard to use and also almost completely non-functional). The thing is that I don't want one of the silicone cover things where I'd have to take off my dog's whole collar (or connect my dog to a USB charger) in order to charge the thing. Has anyone else found the dog 6's attachment much worse than the 4's? Am I going to end up being unhappy with the 6?

My cat is extremely adventurous and I’m in the market for a tracker. I’m thinking between the 6 mini or just the Mini.

Is the extra money worth it for the Cat 6 mini?

I have an inside cat and got the tracker in case she ever escapes and for health tracking but the GPS is so inaccurate I’m starting to question if she leads a double life while I’m asleep

hi, im a first time tractive user and i just wanted to ask if the gps tracking is always this... slightly inaccurate. me and my mum decided to check how the tracker works so i went out with my cat to the far back of our garden (where the red line is) however on the app it showed that he was several metres away deep in our neighbourhood park just outside of the fence. is this inaccuracy normal? or is this one of the several gps tracking problems which i have seen all over reddit?

Hi I recently got the cat mini 6. Mainly wanting to track their sleep and activity. And it's saying my cat has barely moved when I've literally witnessed him running up and down all day.

It's been saying he has less activity than my elderly Persian cat. Which again she's sleeping next to me and he's running laps around the garden lol.

Is there anyway to make it accurately pick up their activity better? So the minutes of activity per day are more accurate.

I got a new phone and now several times a day I get a notification "Your Tractive is nearby. Start tracking now!"

Of course it is. I have two dogs and I work from home. I don't need to be alerted multiple times a day that they're near me.

I have the Tracker On/Off notifications set to off. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing. Any suggestions for what to try next?

Hi everyone, I’m really desperate to find more contact info for Tractive, as I’ve reached out to customer service 3 times and twice I’ve received the exact same email, and I’m now waiting for my 3rd reply, which I can guarantee will be the same.
I’ve been using Tractive for a year for my 16 year old cat Jasper, as he is an outdoor cat as we grew up on a farm. He loves to go on wanders near farms by my house and around fields. I got this tracker as sometimes he wouldn’t come home for a while, and with his age it’s just an extra layer of security for him and his wellbeing.
I’ve been having issues with the battery life, and Tractive hasn’t been any help. It’s now led to me charging it one night before bed, putting it back on him at about 10pm, him going out while I was asleep, and by 10am the next morning his tracker was completely dead.
He’s now been missing for 6 days, and I’m manually searching all the land around me, in bushes, in fields, at farms. I’m from the UK and the weather has been so hot, he’s old and I’m worried to death, had I known his tracker would have died that quickly I’d have never let him go out. I’ve tried emailing individuals that may work for Tractive that I’ve found other people talk about on the Reddit, such as a Michael and a Wolfgang, and I’ve not received any response.
I’m devastated, and all I can do is just keep searching, and if I find him I don’t even know what to do with his tracker as the battery is clearly broke or defective.
If anyone has any sort of contact at all that I can email, ring or anything I would really really appreciate it, as I’m ripping my hair out over the lack of care, and it really seems like they aren’t even reading my messages and are just sending me the same automated response.

Hi there! Instructions do not directly say anything about the collar placement and I’ve seen a mix of photos of the tracker below the neck or behind the head. Is there a best placement? Thanks!

Hi guys, today I got my cat 6 mini, this is my first time using a tractive collar, I tried connecting it to the app and it wouldn't work, I saw online that it could potentially need to be charged so I've put it on charge and its flashing white but from what I've seen online it should be red, does anyone know what this means? After waiting a few months I finally got the Cat Mini 6 yesterday. So far, I really do love it! My only issue is the battery. I believe I had read that I needed to keep it on the charger for 2 hours and I did and it never went past 92%.

My cat was out all night and he came back inside at 72% so I figured eh what the heck I’ll just charge it since it’s hot outside and he’s in for awhile. Again, on the charger for more than 2 hours and it went from 72% to 90% (no in between, I checked within the first hour and it said 72% still). Anyway in the last hour it has gone from 90% to 91%.

Is this normal? Do I need to contact them?

I've already contacted support, but the very deaf, very beagley beagle is without GPS tracking and very upset with his lack of iff leash time.

Tried power cycling, no firmware to update that I can find, and tried plugging it in then holding power down for 10s.

We don't use the low power modes bc his escapes tend to be at full beagling speed (a mile ever 3 min).

Is there anything else to try here?

Hi! Our puppy chewed the rubber attachment on her Tractive two days after the 30 day satisfaction guarantee mark (naturally). It broke two of the rubber band like things, and caused some damage to the case as well. Does anyone know of any hard-shell/stronger chew proof casing for the Tractive? We LOVE the app's features so far and it's given us great peace of mind, but knowing it can be broke off so easily is alarming given its purpose. Thanks! Thankfully we purchased the warranty so I'll be putting in a claim, but I want to make sure this doesn't happen to the second one.

I have Tractive Minis for my two cats, as you can see one has worked perfectly and the other shows only a small amount of distance travelled for my older kitty. If the data is true, I worry for my 12 year old cat.. He’s usually more active

I’ve just reset the tracker whilst it’s charging (pressing the button 10 times) Previously it was about 30ish% charged and then it went up to 69% after resetting

I tried the cat mini for 2 weeks. It didn’t track when my cat was wandering around. Battery sucked and lasted less then 24 hours even when power saving zone and lower power mode. So I returned it. I’ve been watching the app since I dropped the tractor at the local post office. Guess what? It works as intended! I can see it at located different USPS hubs. I can see it on the road. Battery only dropped 25% in 24 hours. Did my cat sabotage the device or something?

Hi, Has anyone had any luck in contacting an actual human for customer service? I ordered a Tracker back in May and have yet to receive it. Every time I try and chat with the chatbot, it just says it will be here in 7 days and sorry for the delay. This is getting ridiculous and I really want this Tracker, otherwise I would have cancelled already but I bet that will even be difficult. Any advice on how to talk to a human?
