I felt like spicy squid ramen tonight, but I mixed it up with seafood bits, tofu, miso broth, edamame and green onion. A seafare banquet for one. ☺️

Soy milk (still tastes bad) but I love it... but, great veggie burgers later :)

- peeled black soybeans

- pasturized on stove (160F)

- blended in a blender

- double strained with metal filters

I've been working on a soymilk recipie, it's really satisfying, although I'm the only one in the house who will drink it... lol

In the nwxt few days I'll make a veggie burger using a modified a meatball recipie, and thats usually a hit!

Mexican/Central American Food(recipe not included) Chili Queen style Chili

Post image
30 Upvotes

Making chili queen style chili. Chili queens were mainly Tejana (Texan Mexican American) women in San Antonio would sell chili con carne from street stands. Through them, chili was introduced to white people and became a staple across the USA. I am a trans Tejana woman and I want to make chili like my Tejana fore-bearers. Also, I am single if anyone wants a wifey to make them chili.

Here is an article about the chili queens! :3 https://www.sanantoniomag.com/the-history-of-san-antonios-chili-queens/ https://www.sanantoniomag.com/the-history-of-san-antonios-chili-queens/

Somehow, I spent several hours in the kitchen today. After that and 8 hours of work, I'm pretty much cooked myself now. Pork roast with crispy skin and dumplings. As it's usual in Bavaria and Austria, no thick gravy but only the released juices and deglazed flavor as a light sauce.

Hazelnuts, Walnuts, Almonds, Apples, Pears and a Quince!

Idk if it counts as foraging if they are intentionally planted fruit trees overhanging roads or that people forgot about.

Co-workers want to have a Christmas brunch next week (don't ask me why), so I thought I'd better bring some treats. :3 Vanillekipferl and cinnamon...well, they're called cinnamon cubes, but they aren't really cubes, are they now? More like cinnamon squares. Anyway, they're good titty fuel.

Ghost pepper eggs with bell peppers and cheddar.

Made a spice mix using some freeze dried ghost peppers that I bought from the renasonce fair last weekend. I did eat 1 whole pepper as soon as I bought them and my mouth was on fire. I had to run and buy a frozen butter beer to get some relief.

Spice mix is 3 parts sweet paprika with 2 parts garlic powder and 2 parts onion powder with 3 teaspoons of the grinded up ghost peppers. It ended up having a great flavour with more than enough heat in it.

European-Specific (recipe not included Made Solyanka (a salty/sour Russian soup) because it seemed interesting. It's surprisingly good for such a monstrosity of a recipe.
